Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Bay Area Recumbent Groups?

I'm new to the bay area from the east coast. I ride upright bikes daily, but lately i've been thinking about taking my vision r40 out for something different. Does anyone know of any recumbent specific groups in the bay area or Silicon Valley? I've been searching google but nothing seems to be jumping out at me....

A Google search turned up a Yahoo! group:
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group..._the_East_Bay/

Zach Kaplan Cycles is in Alameda, but last I knew, he was a very busy guy and had to charge for his time. I also found a CVC Recumbents, which seemed to specialize in trikes. That may or may not be a real brick-and-mortar store.

I'm not a member, but I know a recumbent cyclist who I think rides with the Almaden Cycle Touring Club.

Bill Bushnell rides with Western Wheelers

Try posting here: http://www.bentrideronline.com/messa...isplay.php?f=9

I bought a Tour Easy a few years ago that came up from Martinez, but that's as close as I get.

Umm... This IS the bent forum. The S. Cal. forum seems to be pretty well-attended, though and might be worth a try.
