Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

If a wealthy fellow like you can spend hard earned dollars on a recumbent I say go for it.

I see that a youngster by the name of Johnny Schlitter won a 160 mile race with a fancy looking recumbent Aero. Very shinny. That looks like the Porsche of recumbent bicycles. You might have to spend thousands of dollars for one. Folks like me can live on $3000 a year with my CHEAP lifestyle so I build my own recumbent bikes and coroplast duct tape extras.

If only more recumbent folks were like that young whipper snapper Johnny Schlitter. I now see there are a few recumbent racers out there. Johnny Schlitter, Jim Kern, Fred Markam and Sam Whittingham to name a few. Too bad there are snooty recumbent folks who can only talk about watts and smoking roadies. All talk and no action at Human Power Vehicle races. They can learn a lesson or two or three from Johnny Schlitter.

I prefer to smile and walk up hills like most benters do.

Now where have you been where you read post about watts? You've learned a lot since being at bike forums? last I checked you had a total of 34 post and it started this month. Its just like on cycling forums. You make up some more fake people to make posts and agree with everything you say. I think cycling forums had 6 fake people, all you making posts supporting your alter ego. goodbye.

Whenever I see JS, JK, and Aero in the same sentence, I figure it's Kevin. Then it's posted in the middle of the night (CST) which just affirms it.

Do you know Kevin Sites the journalist for NBC? Is Kevin the only one in America who posts messages in the middle of the night (CST)?

Some benters pretend to be Sam Spade or claim they can "smoke roadies". They are some funny fellows.

I just walk my recumbent up 20% and most all kinds of grades while I eat my PBJ and smile at all the regular bicycle riders who can stand on pedals and pass me. Quite funny also.

You're right, Man, and I apologize. I should be ashamed.

Keep on biking/walking, Dood.

P.S. I hope I meet you in person some day. Seriously, you are one interesting/disturbed person and definitely a legend. Have a beer (and a PBJ) on me!

I think you need to try decaf. Or maybe walking your bent up a hill while eating a PB&J.

Don't leave, Chris. Newbies need advice from experienced riders like you and John. Someone's got to fend off the fake morons like Spuds from the unsuspecting reader.

Heck, Spuds will never tell you the real inside scoop on a cheap recumbent man. Just get your sisters old raleigh three speed bike from the wrecking yard, weld on a boom with a bb,, get yourn chain under control somehow, build yourself a stemriser with an old broom handle, find an old steel frame chair and wrap it in duct tape, lash it onto the ole seatpost hole somehow, then find yerself an old derailer and chain setup, and a couple ole wheels from the wrecking yard and , BAM,you be riding.

lowracer1, I think most people (me included) take Spud's PBJ eating bent riding gospel with a grain of salt.

Please stay and don't be frustrated by his difference in ideology.

If I could use one in a race against other roadies for a purse I'd definitely think about getting a diamond frame. Too bad there are so many hills where I live.

I see no Team Volae doing any Ultra events or IHPVA races. Bacchetta is still out there doing it.
The Aero is the best "highracer" out there and the standard that all others compare to.

What's your point, Kevin? I own an Aero and ride it most of the time. I also own a Team. I don't need your help comparing the two.

Thanks alltheway, I think Chris needed to hear that. My attitude is that anybody who's met me knows I'm not a sham or a blowhard, and anybody who hasn't met me doesn't care. By the same token, when he starts on others on the forum, I'll consider the source, too.

John, you and Chris know a lot about recumbents. Spuds McDungle knows a lot about PBJ. Enough said.

I think you do Dennis.
I tried to help you. The Aero is the Highracer standard. You are ******** if you disagree. Rich Pinto's creation is the STANDARD highracer bicycle bar none.
But you are free to spend your money any way you like to Dennis. I see no 500 mile ultra rides done on a Volae team. Maybe a NoCom is next? But that is not a highracer.
And of course I work for a bike shop. The owner is my best friend. Volae robs sales from my best friend and hurts his business. So to that I say you are a ******. Sorry to be so very very blunt. I would buy a trek before a Volae and suffer with that.
And I saw some posts from Jude who is also my good friend who has a very small outfit and Volae screwed him to. Bacchetta supports small bike shops and this is a good thing.

But you are slow on a bicycle John.
Better start training. Spuds has a NoCom.
Just the rumors that I have been hearing. Some rich business men have donated one to spuds so that he can race in style. Better start training John.
I know what spuds can do on a lowracer man....
