I'm looking for a trailer to use with my Bacchetta Giro 20 for hauling stuff that just won't fit in panniers. I've done some searching around and I can't seem to find any info on a trailer that will work if you're using the kickstand mount with disc brakes. Now I'm a tinkerer so I can't believe that this is an either/or situation as I've read. Most folks seem to be saying that if you've got the kickstand bracket that effectively rules out being able to use any type of trailer that mounts around the rear axle area. I'm thinking there must be some way to mount a trailer hitch, possibly even using the kickstand bracket itself. Although, now that I think about it, the kickstand bracket may not be the most secure since it's only using those 4mm bolts to hold it to the dropout, and it seems like more trailer hitches are axle mounts of some sort. Has anyone given any serious thought to figuring out mounting a trailer hitch along with the kickstand bracket?

I cannot double check as my Extrawheel Voyager trailer is in my storage unit at present but it might be a possibility. I would come down to whether the fork clears the folded up kickstand leg I suspect.

If you are seriously interested I could possibly check in the next week or so.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm actually looking for something that would be more like a flatbed trailer. One of the things I'd like to carry would be a bag of cat litter without having to drap it over the top of the rear rack on the bike.

In case anyone else has been following this, I believe I may have solved my own problem. Burley makes an extender piece that allows you to mount their hitch attachment piece spaced out away from the dropouts, mainly for bikes with funky dropout designs that won't work with a stock hitch mount. It seems like this type of adapter would work well with the Giro because it would kick the hitch mount out away from the kickstand mounting plate. Also, since I use Pitlock skewers, I found through a quick search that they make a 200mm skewer which I could use to make up for the wider clamping distance using the hitch mount and spacers. So, it looks like I could easily use a Burley hitch and presumably all I need to do is just pick up a used kiddie haulin' Burley trailer off Craigslist and just modify it into a regular cargo flat bed type trailer. Either that or buy the hitch hardware from Burley then get something like the DIY Wike cargo trailer kit.
