Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Mudguards for a Bacchetta Giro 26/20

Hopefully my last post on setting up this bike Any suggestions/experiences with particular brands or models of fenders for the Bacchetta Giro 26/20? I am suspecting that the Bacchetta mudguards maybe the only choice but you never know

Thanks

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

I ordered, and installed a set of Bacchetta fenders on my Giro 26. They didn't fit well. They may be intended for the cantilever brake version, I really don't know. They definitly are not for the disc version. Yes, they can be made to fit. However, if you are expecting an OEM part install, you will not get it.

These did not appear to be any different from any other fenders. I recommend going to a bike shop and looking at what they have on the shelf.

Planet Bike Speedez fenders are pretty adaptable - I use them on the back of a RANS V3 and a Screamer. Hybrid version, I think, trimmed to fit with less than full coverage, as I have set them up.

Planet Bike makes a 20" and a 16" front mudguard , and a 20" rear, they are sold as an each.

the rear on a front wheel would offer fuller coverage, so, maybe better on a SWB bike ,
with the wheel under your Knees.

Sold as a pair, the 26" wheel will be half of that pair, so the 26" front will be orphaned.

'Planet Bike' may be a different distributor's name in Australia, seems to be so on UK sites.

Thanks everyone. I have taken a punt and gone with Planet Bike Hardcore recumbent mudguards, well a front one anyway. Yet to find a seller of 26" rear one that does not want my children's inheritance for postage

I found Planet Bike headlights were sold under a different name in UK, because the Importing distributor
was different.

Same Manufacturer in Asia for the source, just not the same distributor , so you may find the Australian equivalent ..

say aubergines in the US and they go ??? since the name Eggplant is used here..

Sold as Planet Bike here ... just a matter of if the distributor actually brings them in.
