I know a shop in the mid-west that sold 57 of the USX in 2004.....Something must be right. When you read the specs it looks heavy but I haven'y riden one. Have you seen a Penninger voyager? Very well built with solid components and Phil Wood hubs........A little pricey at $2800.00.

I bought one a couple of years age. I found Sid a decent guy to communicate with, but his product is definitely "backyard homebuilders quality" I have had many trikes, and I have to say that the Tricrusier is the worst that I have seen. It handles terribly, is unstable in turns, and the seat is torture. I would compare it's stability and handling to that of a Radio-flyer Coaster Wagon. All parts that aren't home made, are "Huffy kids bike" quality.

Please keep in mind that these comments are just the opinion of this particular BROL member, and not the critique of a professional bicycle reviewer(but this doesn't mean that the member's comments aren't valid either). Also remember that any/all of the components used on this trike can probably be upgraded to better quality parts...but for more $, of course.
Also keep in mind that this thread appeared on BROL a year ago, and the Tricruiser may have been greatly improved upon since then...good luck!

Sid is very helpful to work with. Even told me that if I do not like it I can return it for full refund.
Two other responder's love the bike.
I have a Trek 7700 which is a premium bike. I am legally blind and am pursuing the Tricruiser with dual joystick, disk brakes, power assist with Currie. Pricey at $2,100 including shipping. The USX can be purchased for about $875. Great unit for excellent price. Not sure if I can add power assist. Not sure of benefits from power assist.
Any other ideas you can give me. I also want to take my 70 pound mixed german sheperd, australian sheperd with me. The Tricruiser addresses that option. I can take the USX to a fabricator to machine a platform on back, but not sure that would screw up balance on USX.

PS: Sid admits that his components are middle of the road. It is bolt together, but aluminum. The USX is steel.
I can't comment on ride since I cannot touch and feel like I did the USX locally.

why power assist? if the bike is greared right I bought you would need it. I cna't see carring a dog on back. they could hardly move. your better off using a trailer for that job.

Trailer would add a lot to the rolling resistance and weight of the package. I don't think it'd be that difficult to make a platform for the USX, although since Sid already has it for the TriCruiser, that saves reinventing the wheel.
Without the Dog I'd go with the USX (it's pretty robust except for the rder) unless you plan on going off road some or need the comfort and suspension of the TriCruiser.
