Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

2007 HP Velotechnik Street Machine GTE

Hi,
I was looking to sell my father in law's recumbent. Can someone give me an approximate value for this bike? It has less than 500 miles on it.

There is a similar 2007 Street Machine GTE currently for sale on bentrideronline.com. The asking price is $2,500 but it looks as though there are quite a few expensive upgrades on the list shown there. The current MSRP is $2,695 including customs and shipping from Germany to the dealer.

It's a very nice bike and I have a friend who loves his SM GTE. What you need to decide is how much to discount for the original warranty expiring and the fact that the bike is 6 years old. Most companies limit any warranty to the first owner. I've bought a number of used recumbents and would not buy one unless I got a reasonable discount over the price new. I paid $2,600 for a 3 year old Greenspeed GTO trike with about 1,000 miles on it when the new price for the trike with the same equipment was $4,300. It was a great price for a very nice trike. The seller was happy and I was happy.

Join bentrideronline and advertise it there as well. Doesn't cost anything to join but you can be a sponsor if you wish. A quick look at CL nationwide shows no Street Machines for sale anywhere in the US on CL so you should have no trouble finding someone to buy the bike. It certainly is a desirable recumbent with a loyal following.
