Just bought a Catrike Trail...
All I can say is I love this thing, the chain was a pain in the ass though to string up.
I assembled it last night and took it out for a 5 1/2 hour maiden voyage around Calgary.
While out, I had a regular chain skip, turned out to be a stiff link, got that fixed and it broke not 10 min later... Fortunately came prepared with a chain tool and a master link, working beautifully after that.

Word of advice to anyone new to trikes... In the right gear, a trike will climb walls BUT if you're in the wrong gear and stall on a hill, park, rest a bit, and if you can't take off again, lock the brake then stand up after you've rested, rubber recumbent legs will bring you down like a limp noodle and you won't realize it in a reclining position.... I have a bruised tailbone now and bring an insulating cushion for your bottom if cold weather riding. Low mesh seat = freeze your backside off.

I did a test ride of trikes a few months back. Was as much fun as I'd thought it would be. It's only a matter of time now before the stable grow...

I have stated before, having both a recumbent bike and a trike give me the best of both worlds. The bike goes on longer rides, and club rides, and the trike goes on rides around town where I may just set and watch construction etc. the trike also goes on windy days, since I can make better speed on it.

About a month ago there were bike races at a local park, so I took the trike. I rode right up to the course and just sat there. The roadie racers really didnt talk to me except one girl racer, but you could see that they thot riding by lawn chair was a good deal. Everyone else had to set on the ground, stand, or drag out their own lawn chairs.

Some inflatable camping cushions of the "Thermorest pillow" sort will keep your back and bum warm and you can blow them up "inside" the mesh. Makes a huge difference for winter riding. I like mesh seats - flexible for both summer and winter thermoregulation, with the right padding.
