I've had some serious back issues the past couple of years and today I took delivery of a Catrike Expedition and man this thing is night and day difference over my old Actionbent Trike. I feel way more comfy on it then the Bacchetta Giro26. I'm still getting it figured out on how to handle the Giro from starts/stops but other than that I love both rides. I've recently decided to sell off all of my DF conventional bikes and go all 'bent. I know it's gonna limit some of the rides I can go on with groups in the area but most of my riding is solo as well. I've started a recumbent fan page on Facebook hoping to get connected with a few of the local recumbent riders.

Here is a pic from a couple weeks ago

When I got home I decided to put my cargomonster kit on the Catrike I had

I purchased another Catrike Expedition to use when not hauling stuff on the cargomonster. It's safety hi viz yellow in color. I have yet to get a pic of it though.

Hey Gnome....Got a question for ya.

How do you like the grasshopper? I've wanted one ever since they were released. I'm hoping to test ride one at the midwest recumbent rally. Your thoughts on USS? Any info would be appreciated.

My bike is a Challenge Mistral not a HP Velo Grasshopper. I have only just got it and it needs some fiddling and adjusting to get running right and fitting me properly. I like the USS for just having your hands relaxed at your side. USS does make transporting the bike a bit more difficult. A SWB bike with USS also takes some getting used to. I don't think that they are a just-hop-on-and-ride bike for most people when they try one.

Thanks Gnome......I just assumed it was a GH. Sorry about that. I don't know why but those styled bikes have really caught my eye.

Very nice Tour Easy, "combover"! Of course I'm a bit biased, as I also ride a beautiful BLUE TE from the 1980's. I upgraded the fork, stem & handlebars to the newer versions, which improved the handling ever so slightly. Enjoy your new bike!

Thanx Radcycle, I love the tour easy long wheelbase ! here is a picture of my first recumbent, a sun easy sport which is ALSO a blast, and the one that I was first bitten by the recumbent bug, the picture shows it after I stopped at the bike shop to get some tires for another bike that I was working on....oh and the healthfood store for some juice .....firm believer of "ONE LESS CAR"

Hi combover well it's been my home for two years as I travel the entire coast of all Australia and all the inland roads/tracks from east to west and north to south plus everything in between. That photo was taken at Nonning in the mid north of Australia.

That's pretty neat, is that one of those Extracycle kits ? Or something specificly designed for your bike ?

I just got this one and I am still dialing it in. I have no idea what it is a copy of, the label on the side says Allegro.
