In 2008 I was undecided between a Giro 20 and a RANS V-Rex. The bike shop I was ordering through said I would have to wait several weeks for Bacchetta to ship but that RANS could send a V-Rex immediately. No brainer!
Love the V-Rex but am sure I would have been just as happy with the B-Bike.

My baron got a facelift: Chinese carbon fork, Spyre disc caliper to replace the old BB7, and a Rev-X wheel. Someday I'll sand the drywall mud and paint the basement walls.

The Spyre is the next generation of mechanical discs. It moves both inside and outside pads. It just works better than BB7 and is easier to adjust because the pad clearance isn't so finicky. I had mine set up from scratch in about 2 minutes.

250 miles on this recumbent (Vortritek 900R). Takes some getting used to but I like it.
Once it's paid for (< $2000) I need upgrades: BB5 to Sprye, Acera to Sram9 or, if I can find one, a used 105 9spd derailleur. Oh, and DiaComp to TT500 bar end shifters (maybe). CR is 30-42-52, would like to drop that 30 to a 28 for a little more hill climbing capacity. Damned gravity!
After considerable research, experimentation, and experience I decided that adulthood is not for me. Please accept my resignation.

You added the pics as an attachment. To get full-size pics to show up, you need to first put them up on a picture-hosting web site. There are several that will let you register for free accounts. I use Photobucket. Then you use the picture icon (3rd from the right on top of the quick reply window) to enter the URL of your picture. Basically, the button just puts [IMG] tags around your URL, to tell the forum software to display a picture. For instance, the close-up of my disc brake has a url of

New "FF" (Feet First) bike. Some crumbling cervical vertibrae have ended my DF riding. Now trying to "muscle up" to my old pace, on this lawn chair with pedals. Thank goodness for Naproxen...

I rescued a garage queen, 2 years sitting, all original, about 50 miles when I got it.
Sat In a garage near a window, sun dried up one hand grip. I will never part with this Bent.
Nothing fancy but It sure rides nice

Update: I bought this fast machine on ebay new and fully assembled by a reputable bike shop in Seattle (sure) for less than $2000. They assembled everything correctly except for the chain routing and chain tubes. Major screw-up. The chain was not routed under the idler so it rode against the seat and chewed a long hole. I didn't know anything about trikes so I just thought it was a characteristic of trikes.
Now I do (know a bit about trikes). After a lot of noisy miles I changed all the zip-tied metal fasteners on the chain tubes and re-routed the 12 ft chain. I picked up an additional 2.5mph (on average) with a lot less drag and noise. More funner (yes, that's a word, I just made it up) to ride. I've had it up to 23 mph (about as fast as these 69 year old legs will go). The trike is capable of a lot more.
To be fair there is nothing in the assembly manual about the idler and chain routing and nothing online. This Vortritek 900R is basically a re-branded Performer brand from Taiwan. Their online presence leaves a lot to be desired. But you'd think a "professional" bike mechanic would have the sense to properly route a chain. Humph. Fortunately the hole in the seat isn't visible and doesn't deter from its functionality and the chain is none-the-worse for wear. Very nice machine for the price. I've put 848 miles on it since January.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Mine got a few more upgrades... I added a light bar (a threadless stem and shortened straight bar) as well as fenders.
I have logged a lot of trouble free miles on the BikeE since I picked it up and it has seen all kinds of weather, it is really nice for urban riding because of the higher seat position which lets you see and be seen much more effectively.

always rides with luggage
Actually, I didn't... home improvement intervened and there were a few changes on that bikeE that made me a little nervous. I have also had such bad luck with buying not-standard bikes (witness my mini-velo and folding bike forays) that I chickened out.

Here's an update on the Performer JC-70 (Vortritek 900R). Fantastic machine! I had to contact RBR Bike Shop in Pennsylvania (only "authorized" Performer dealer in US) to get the rack. Rob at RBR was very helpful. The Roswheel bags (China) are from ebay. The flag mount has since been moved to an angle from under the seat. 1312 miles on this since January. I highly recommend this line of trikes.
