Upright bike hitching to a Rans Trizard

I'm considering a Rans Trizard delta trike. There aren't any dealers where I live so I will have to buy direct without a test ride.

Can one attach a regular upright bike to the hitch thingy at the rear of the delta to make a tandem of sorts? Maybe even attach a tandem so that it becomes a triple? I'm thinking one captain for the Delta trike and two stokers for the tandem.

Will stress forces affect or even damage the hitch bracket? How will the the delta turn? Do the 2 stokers lean into the turns? Stability factor?

If this doesn't work, then I'll forget the whole thing, save all the trouble and just get two Trizards for heaven's sake.

Thank you.

That might be one of those things better asked of the manufacturer. I suspect what you're proposing isn't recommended.

The hitch has three degrees of freedom. If you attached a bike to the back of a trizard (or any tandem hitch on any delta trike for that matter), it would flop right over. So, no, this won't work.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

When I was at the Rans Recumbent Rally over Labor Day they hitched 5 Trizards (and a dog trailer) together. The people who rode on that train all looked like they were having a lot of fun. I will say that they were VERY particular about who they'd allow to captain that train. If you'd never ridden Trizards that were hitched together before they weren't allowing it.

Thanks for responding. I sort of guessed already that hitching a DF to a delta would be one very lousy idea but I had to ask anyway.

That's the neat thing about delta trikes: you can hitch them together really easily.
