It's SS mountain biking, but it's still SS

from the HappyFunRacing team...

Quote:
Happy Fun Racing is in the Early planning stages for the 2006 North Cackalacki Caddywompas Single Speed Rally. The tentative date is for Saturday, March 11Th, location is to be announced. For those of you who were too busy playing with dolls last year to participate, here's your chance. We love and miss you! Four months should be enough notice. This is not a race! The only requirements are to use a singlespeed (dah), and to have fun! Allthough it is not a race, there will be a few SPECIAL events that will help determine who will be crowned the Singlespeed King and Queen. Last year we had a trials event. I know that it is a shocker, but there will be BEER involved as well! In fact, that is the only entry fee. To enter you must bring a six pack of some good beer...you can even drink six of someone Else's! "Such a deal!" HFR will, as always supply extra, just in case things get out of hand. (as they often do at HFR events) Clothes are optional, but lack of them during the rally will certainly move you up a notch or two towards royalty...hint, hint! We will likely do some T-shirts again this year and will only charge about what they cost us. We'll have people let us know if they are interested in them when the date gets a little closer.
Get yourself a single speed, if you don't allready have one and start preparing your liver. Last year was our first year and we had around 25 participants. Everyone seemed to have a great time so it should be even bigger this year. Remember this a non-NORBA event......the only guarantees are fun and drunkenness!
Cackalacki = Carolina for those yanks who don't yet know. Although location is still TBD, the event will be somewhere in NC's research triangle (raleigh, durham, or chapel hill)

John is putting on a race to benefit Rico. please come. i'm happy to house or arrange housing for anyone who needs it:
As you all know, Rico was hurt last Friday and is hospitalized in serious condition, but hopefully getting better. He has a request for help put in at BMEF and has some benefits that will kick in as soon as he regains consciousness.

But we also would like to provide him with something extra.

So we are putting on the RICO SUAVE race!!!

Place: Dupont Circle Saturday December 3rd.

Registration: 3:00 p.m.

Race: 4:00 p.m.

Fee: $10.00. All proceeds will be going to Rico or his mom.

The legendary THE CHRONIC will once again host this event. Many thanks to them!!!
Racing for Victory and free beer!!!

Alright, alright, I'm going to break outta my anti social shell and get back on a bike. I'll even spruce the old horse up, new tires, maybe even a new saddle. Definately new cleats, and hrmmm...maybe new shoes...nahh that's too much. In other words...you guys are going down! grrrrrr

To any of the Brooklyn gang that need a place to stay, I've got lots of room! Just bring a sleeping bag, so PM me. Rico is a great guy, and his family can use all the help. Take the Chinatown bus for cheap transport (less $35 roundtrip!).
FNB, EnLaCalle, Msnger, S-9, EddieB, come on down to DC. We can also drink to luck for my return trip to Chicago on the 6th

Chimbly & DCEM, How about a Crit race at Hains Point on Fri. No one should get in trouble for being at Hains. Also they serve pitchers at the club house. Racing, a night tour of DC and then Pirate home base.
