44x16 is a nice gear but only like 4 skid patches... that said i've ridden that ratio for a while but trying out 49x18 for the first time. liking it so far. same gear inches so don't have to change hill climing tactics so much. parker hill ave still kicks my ass though.

The weather on sunday is supossed to be nice (i.e. no disgusting snow/rain combo).
Anyone interested in a fairly chill ride terminating at redbones or blue ribbon?

I'll ride at 2 but I say instead of ending at bbq, we end at somebody's house... at about 6pm when paris-roubaix coverage starts on oln. I'm going back to my house in brookline if anyone wants to join me and pete at 6pm... gimmie a call or be at the ride.

I don't know if this interests anyone on here, but I'm going to be doing the Charlie Baker TT in Concord every Wednesday night if I can, and although I generally don't plan to be on a fixed gear for that race, they are allowed as long as you have a front brake.
Wednesday nights, I'm planning on leaving JP around 3:30-4, to get there for 4:30-5. Reg starts at 5:30, race starts at 6:00. It's a good fun course, 9.75 miles. Top fixed gear time ever on it is something around 25-26 minutes.

word... yah the weather was great today- i predict good times tomorrow night.
the ride on sunday was a lot of fun- we met at copley during a parade that was going down bolyston and then got tipped off to a crit up on the tufts campus. so we rode out there and got to see 1) a wipeout into hay bales 2) some awesome dude in a stache and wool jersey win a race 3) the start and end of another 1,2,3 race where the winner lapped the pack. bbq was also had. later we rode back across the river and watched paris-roubaix + pbr (brew+pro bull riding). for me it was a nice 23mi day. good to meet ppl and match names and faces.

does beantown dog serve veggie dogs? to brunop: i don't know a thing about the nutrition in those veggie doges, but they were delicious. probably better for you than normal- often tofu dogs are fat free.

Beantown sells veggie dogs. Including the "Salad Dog" which is a veggie hot dog with chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded lettuce and ranch dressing, which sounds pretty damn good.
