OK, so, lessons learned:

DON'T carry your lock in the back of your pants while playing bike polo incase you take a backwards fall
DO try to carry the polo ball between your mallet and your front wheel
DON'T drink grenedine straight

Woooo****inHooo! Thanks for a great ride folks. Sorry I had to head back ahead of everyone but I made it back just in the nick of time to roll in to the theatre and do my first scene shift in full Power Ranger regalia. Helmet and all, sweet! Just under 3 hours back, ouch.

Yeah dude, the metro. Really lame. You missed all the excitement in Purcellville after you left! 100 Miles, insane. Anyway, some photos:

Talking Smack.

Lots of traffic on the trail.

after the movers left, i went to laps and cheese. i'd like to thank all the pirates who showed up for laps and cheese this sunday. which would be me.

anyway, there was a washington post sunday source section reporter who's doing a story on fixed gear riding. he stopped me and took photos of janie and i and we chatted. he might come on wed to get more photos for the story. It will run some sunday in the next month (after i'm gone) so y'all better read your sunday papers...

5 pirates. 100 miles. by my calculations that's a half a millenium.

great ride, glad everyone could make it out.

thanks for letting my dad tag along for part of it, he had a great time. he said you all seemed very nice, so i didn't bother to correct him.

and baldy, i believe that you didn't take the metro back. but our surveillance cameras say otherwise.

EDIT: all this metro nonsense started out as a bit of good natured ribbing because steve had to rush back from purcellville in order to get to work on time. steve gets it, but i'm not sure the sarcasm was obvious over the interweb.

we wouldn't ever call steve lame for riding the metro back, steve's lame for running down innocent pedestrians.
