Oh people. I am so excited. I finally found a steel frame. Hopefully i will have it by the end of the week. SO excited. I can't tell you what it is but it's red so you won't be able to see blood. Thing is so rawkin. NOT a polo bike. But hell if i ever stuck to my own rules.

Uh, yeah. So there was an emergency pancake issue raised a couple posts back. FYI, it is true. The FREE pancake dealio at IHOP ends at 2pm on Tuesday. But since we're not total tightwads, we can stay the course, buy our own dang flapjacks, and gorge as planned. Also, all proceeds from shortstacks sold on Feb 28 will go to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, of which I am unaffiliated, but recognize as a good cause.

Hope to see you all out for the super awesome Pancake Ride! There will be some challenging riding, a visit to the cradle of YARRLINGTON, drinking at a couple new exotic divey locales, and some more riding. And maybe some hurling.
Tues, 7pm, homebase! Show-your-face!

pancake pillage!!

yeah if you want to start your national pancake day (one of the few holidays worth celebrating) right, you'll go there at 7am and get yo free shortstack then go back for lunch. then pay a few bucks for dinner. it'll gaurantee either hurling or the energy to go the whole pillage. we missed out on the all you can eat pancakes by a couple weeks. like LBK said it goes to a good charity.

LBK, may I make a suggestion for a new symptom of Carb Fever?

Quote:
A famous pancake race at Olney in Buckinghamshire has been held since 1445. The contestants, traditionally women, carry a frying pan (skillet) and race to the finishing line tossing the pancakes as they go...The winner is the first to cross the line having tossed the pancake a certain number of times.

I think we can all muster up a frying pan, right?

Riding brake-less and one-handed while tossing pancakes is not safe. Especially not in the Yarrrlingont hills.

Well, we'd have to do it on some sort of closed or semi-closed course. Like a parking lot, or a park, or school yard or something.

Ack, I'm sooo dead, decongestants are making the room dance to Nina Totenberg rapping television jingles. At the same time, short stacks of check points for "ride and seek"'s clap like towers of mahjon tiles callapsing onto flemsy folding tables while a hundred grownups drag on marboro and camels with cantoneses expleratives preceeding their every exhaust.

Did someone say plan? We do whatever until 7pm, when we convene at Homebase! From there we launch into the night, like an army of pancake-burnin rockets runnin on sweet sweet maple rocket fuel. yeah! Trophy for the pirate who eats his/her weight in flapjacks and keeps it down. Or lets it up, I haven't decided yet. Consolation prize for the rest of you losers!

I don't know about breaking the law, citizen. But I have flourescent pink spraypaint for loan or lease.

Your a better man than I. I've been eating doughnuts all day. Aparently eating doughnuts on Shrove Tuesday is tradition in Germany and aparently my office has the same tradition.

Eating "Berliner" or "Krapfen" which is similar to doughnuts is a tradition in Germany, but rather on "schmutziger Donnerstag" which was last Thursday and not today.
