And carry STRONG tire levers with you. Likely you will always need all 3 of them. And 15 minutes. They are a pain in the ****in ass to change. I got so frustrated with em that i switched back to more regular tires. I havn't had a single flat with my regular tires keeping them at full pressure since i switched from the Armadillo's.

Today makes about the fifth time I've seen this girl on a white Bob Jackson frame with pink Deep-V rims, Phil hubs, no brakes. Most of the time in my hood (13th & Mass.). Anyone know who this is?

Maggie's Bob is geared and dark green.
I believe that's Lindsay's bike, the woman in this photo from the Rico Race: https://flickr.com/photos/chimblyswee...n/set-1516427/

PIRATES! I think I'm too burned out to leave town again for the race this weekend, so I'm wondering if anyone wants to join me for this instead. I found it in the express randomly - a paper i never even open most days. It strikes me as something we could even don pirate garb for. Yarrr!

EDIT: CRAP! Tickets are $50-! Rather than drinking the world's most expensive rum punch, perhaps we aught to have a competition of our own?? Anyone?? Then maybe we can even get drunk and crash the official overpriced event? That could be silly fun.

In honor of global warming...uh...i mean...spring...I'm lighting up the 40-gallon drum at my place and roasting whatever meat (or meat-like product) anyone brings over. I have a big back porch, room for trackstanding, a roofdeck (trackstanding on the roof?), an Awesome cat, a hammock, and people will bring beer. (in fact, if i can secure some more $10 donations, I'll gladly go get a keg of yeungling.) If you don't know where I live, pm me. Most of you pirates already know.

when? saturday afternoon/evening.

*Anyone attempting to barbecue Awesome will be barbecued and fed to Awesome.

BB/W-85: That image is awsome! Nice work.

lebowitz: Actually,I don't think I checked the tire. Was I right about the gas station's compressor not being able to handle the bike tire? Didn't even think about that until later. You coming to polo tonight? (7pm,14th & K NW)

J5: I'll make the party, but no drinking. I'm prolly gonna be on the pager. Are we burning pants again? I don't think I have any old ones left.

Also, mea culpa,I forgot to give props to Ben for feeding us Pirates after CM. Good on yer dude. That was most awsome pasta.

Hey folks!

The wife and I have a hankerin' for some Margaritas (preferably frozen), chips & salsa. We're heading out for an early dinner, and we want to try a new joint. Any suggestions?

hmm... digging into what i remember of my birthday margarita tour last year...
the best margaritas in town are at Andale, but they're on the rocks.
my favorite frozen ones are at El Tamarindo, but some people prefer Guapo's.

my "official" invite:

*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***
To celebrate the early onset of global warming...er...i mean spring, I'm hosting
a RGSBPE (Ritual Goat Slaughtering & Barbecue & Punch Extravaganza). OK, so
maybe we won't have any goats....but if we did, we'd do what' s only right, and
slaughter the **** out of them.

AcceptableGoatRoastingPartyBehavior™
- drink from the keg of Yuengling ( $5-$10 donation should cover it)
- barbecue meat or meat-like product on the 40-gallon drum (separate grill for
militant veganistas)
- trackstand on the roof deck
- help me paint/build a bike or two on the back patio
- lie on the hammock
- play in the alley with Awesome the cat
- partake in the DC Pirates Rum Punch Competition (i.e. bring rum punch and
sample)
- revel in the springiness

UnacceptableGoatRoastingPartyBehavior™
-tormenting Awesome (Tormenters will be barbecued and fed to Awesome)
-complaining about the 70-degreee weather

Sound good? Good.

My place, this saturday afternoon (3/11)
maps.google.com/maps?q=3161+18th+St+Nw,+Washington,+DC

Also happening:
- st paddy's day 8k run sunday 9am -- involves action AND beer!
- bike ride up rock creek park hills saturday
