red hook crit brooklyn 2014 anyone racing or spectating?

sign up opened yesterday. men's crit is waitlisted already.

this will be my 3rd time racing a red hook crit. it's probably my favorite event of the year.

anyone else racing or going to watch?

I'll be there watching with a cowbell!

I'm hoping to get out to spectate.

Missed the signup, so I too am stuck on the waitlist. :crash: I'll be there spectating with friends

i keep missing it or having something stupid to do, i hope i can at least watch this year instead of trolling the app to watch results

plowmanjoe 02-25-14 08:16 PM

i'm really interested to see what's new for this year.

regi'd for the 5k run instead. and will spectate there as well.
less events this year due to cost-raise—hear Navy Yard charges stupidly big—, less sponsorship and the safety issue—from last yr's horrendous accident.
concentrated fun, i'd say.

for dudes and dudettes not been there. if in NYC vicinity, i RECOMMEND.
really fun and som enice energy out there.

i rode past the guy seconds after he hit the railing. i saw his face, it was indeed horrendous. i felt really bad for him, but i don't think you can blame the course for that accident. i hope they bring the navy yard back next year, maybe. that site is beautiful.

thanks.

goal number 1 is to not die. goal number 2 is to qualify. 85 riders will qualify out of 259, so it'll be tough.

looks like rain on saturday. it's going to be interesting in the cold and wet. the hairpin turn was nerve wrecking enough on dry pavement.

Do they do an online feed of this race or anything like that?

other than their facebook page—which is pretty well kept maintained and updated—there's a free iOS app called RHC Race Day.
once downloaded it gets activated around the race day—the Barcelona and Milan ones are still to come—with feeds, photos and race stats etc.
