You need to tell me at least 1.5 hours beforehand if it's going to happen.

In case any of you guys are interested we've got our show happening up at Yonge and St. Clair on saturday evening. There will be beautiful young people, art, music and alcohol. More spirited art viewing will be beginning around 8pm I suppose... Hope to see you there!

It's helped me out a couple of times. No joy if someone is willing to pay twice what you are, mind you.

eyefloater 04-04-06 06:59 AM

Shiznaz, sounds like a plan - any idea what the bike lock-up situation will be like?

I posted something last night but it looks like our newly upgraded forum ate the post. Attempt #2: I'm going to go on a recon mission to the track today and take some photos. The excitement level is pretty high about the potential for some ridiculous path racing.

"Hey, a bike gang!"

"Hey, it's like... a bike-a-thon or something!"

(less than a block later...) "Hey, it's a ****ing telethon!" (Buh?)

Nice. So when is the next one? Always nice to have an excuse to ride downtown at night.

somnambulant 04-04-06 08:41 AM

32flavours:I want to join y'all on a critical vacuuuuuuuum, but I'm often not on my computer at night. I sit in front of one all day, so I don't always want to sit in front of one all night. :) Maybe 24 hours notice would be good.. ?

shiznaz: I'll def. be there.

eyefloater: when you heading over to scout that track? If it's after 5:00, drop me an email or call me.

yeah, let me know when these happen. i'm in one of my insomniac phases again.

gokiburi 04-04-06 09:09 AM

i think i missed the memo.. what the heck does the "vacuum" refer to? or is it that obvious. i'm another person that needs some notice too please.

wasted weasel 04-04-06 09:17 AM

hey I've seen that track before... sometimes when I have no choice but to take the subway, it's right under the bloor danforth viaduct (sp?).....I've always wondered about it too. There is a set of wooden stairs from the school down the embankment to bayview on the southside I think

Don't go down the stairs cause you'll have to go through the school you can get to it from the DonValley I believe the road is part of Bayview on the west side of the valley there is a spooky bike lane there but there is a small fence easy to get over and used to be a walk through opening or was

veteran_youth 04-04-06 09:48 AM

CV rides tend to be pretty spur of the moment......2-3 hours notice has been the current trend. I just don't know if it would truly be a Critical Vacuum anymore with things like adequate notice or proper organization.

While I am partly being a ******, there is also a certain truth to what I wrote. Being cooped up inside with no plans, surfing bikeforums and finding a ride to go on unexpectedly, then meeting random people and sparkin' an L, and bombing around a route that is determined on a whim by whomever happens to be leading, definitely gives CV a distinctive energy.

Give people notice, and they might start thinking about things like proper bike maintenance, clothing, nutrition, leg-shaving, personal hygeine, etc.

That was just my flesh coloured dance leotard. I wear it on special occasions.

And all this time I thought I was playing footsies with Shiznaz
