Worst case scenario, we just need to find a soccer field, etc. somewhere and we can mark out a course w/ a stake, length of rope and a can of spraypaint.

Eye....you're so DIY, my hero. I'm sure we will find some sort of mayhem, to occupy our meager attention spans for a little while, dang was just hoping for someplace derelict that could be turned into something cool , with a few shovels and some hard work. How's that Lemond treatin' ya?

I ride by that track (school) every day. Looks nice, smooth pretty much busy till dark every day. I’ll take a look at the light situation. Like the other guy said I think it’s just the lights off cosburn
t.jam is your intention to rally the troops & hit there for some fun around the track wobbly pops ect.
Is there any truth to the rumor you got a new bike as well?
Cheers

there's a relitavely unused track in the west end here as well, indian rd south of anette. don't think it's lit, but it does have that ghetto feel and the gate is usually unlocked. used to walk my dog in there...

The Lemond is doing well. I'm out the door first thing tomorrow morning to see how many laps I can put in at Leslie spit before bad things happen in my legs. Then in the afternoon I have finish a wheel build and start hauling Pake parts to the shop for "The Build." I figured out how I'm going to do the headbadge: drill out a wooden block w/ a hole the same diameter as the head tube. Saw that block in half, fit the coin in (coin face against the wood) w/ a reasonable facsimile of a head tube on the other side (ie. scrap steel pipe). Press that setup w/ a vice and the coin should be bent to the shape of the head tube while retaining the detail on the face.
Awhile back I got a nice deal on some Formula hubs (fixed/fixed). Dude that sent them to me did a crappy job with the packing and the threads (left and right-hand threaded) on one side were partially crushed. Not a pretty sight. Soo ... to Malcolm I took this beat up hub. Turns out he's going to chase the threads back into shape by hand. My small infantile brain thought that was rather impressive and thus, I spread the word.
I've got before pics ... I'll post the afters once I pick up the hub from him tomorrow.

If you guys want a flat 400m paved track, central tech has a pretty nice one... not too much light at night but enough to see... mere steps away from my house too!

yea I went to that art school across the street from castelfrank station last year
they use the track during the nicer months of the school year for soccer and baseball and whatnot for gym class
I was one of the few people in that school who actually took gym class.

I knew we'd find one! Sweeper, no I haven't gotten a new ride yet. I'm not giving up though.
Yea I think some wobbly track action could be a blast, lol, a whole new bend on track riding.
I was kinda stoked about the derelict track in maybe being able to make that one a dirt jumpin' bermed turn kinda action, but that seems to have wbeen kiaboshed with this latest attention to it. Soooooooo a smoothy with a bunch a folks at night could be darned fun too. I mean it's all in what you make of it right? Niiiice to the rethreading save.
Floater, what lapping do you do in the Spit, I'm right up from there, I may be aqble to meet you one morning when I'm on the late shift.
