You got gayed with the duties. Next time maybe do two seperate orders. The tax + handling I would've been prepared to pay but duties, man i'm going to firebomb the customs office (JOKE).

If you are not prepared to pay duty on stuff...don't order from the States. There is a reason why duties are paid on foreign made goods shipped from the U.S.
it was actually from the UK. For 2 rubino pro's and 2 michelin pro's the price was still good. Speaking of which, I rode home with that **** tucked under my arm (had my laptop/camera backpack with me, not my mess-bag)... how in the hell do messengers ride brakeless with stuff tucked under their arm?! I don't use my brake much but it was my only way to slow down (at least quickly) once I could only have one hand on the bars. I guess it's something you just try to avoid. Or I suck. Or both.

Also speaking of which: michelin pro's in light blue. They're all most too pretty to mount!

And yeah, definitely sign me up for the blast as well.

I prefer my track bike when carrying stuff in one hand. I ride brakeless tho. At least with the fixed you can slow/stop with one hand. Reaching that brake lever when yer riding one handed can be a bitts.

Yea one handed braking is pretty funky when I'm bringin' Burger King home. I've ridden while carrying the tray of drinks even.

Nah, it's the store just north of Yonge/Major Mack. Used to be called Trails up until a year ago or so (MTB store). Then it got bought out or something and turned into mega roadie. I've always had pretty good service at this new store which was surprising (I'm cynical, and some LBS never think i'm going to actually buy something because I look young).

Dude, that was for 6 days ago?

The deaths happened 6 days ago, dingleberry. The memorial rides are tomorrow, April 27th. The post on Torontoist kinda sucks in telling you that information.

I should be there for the evening one, I can just ride over from work.

I just found out the Friends for Life ride registration is closed! Damn my procrastination! I'm going to do something about that, probably next week some time.

Looks like I'll just have to support Eyefloater and Somnabulent

shiznaz: coming back from lunch, i saw a burgundy cyclops locked up outside my work. it looks like a single speed conversion. really nice.. thought it was yours but you've got a track if memory serves me right. this one was a bit dinged up too.
my apartment is full of fair-weather riders. i must've been the only person riding in late-autumn/winter/early-spring. those tell-tale tire tracks leading up to your lock-up were visibily absent from everyone else in my bike room.. and i've never seen anyone in there until a few days ago. recently, one of the yuppies must've got restless and shelled out for a brand new green geared marinoni. full campy. damn, i'd be keeping that thing in my apartment. it's locked together with some full-suspension thing that he probably got bored with.

I was riding through the financial district in a taxi today decked out with a suit and tie, a side parting and a leather portfolio. Don't ask why, but I was. Anyways, I saw like 5 messengers on track bikes, but more importantly I saw the dude on the purple cyclops again. I would like ti chat with the guy, but last time I saw him I was I on foot, and this time I was in a taxi in a suit so it would have been weird to roll down the window and yell at him. His frame has got traditional (not crazy forward sloping) geometry and looks super fun to ride
