I wouldn't wear pro gear if they paid me to... oh wait. I don't see why I should be paying them to wear a ugly logo'ed word'ed jersey. Ugly is the key here.

Up in here nowhere-hill it's not bad because there aren't a billion traffic lights, but downtown the wireless one is next to useless. That being said I don't run a computer anymore at all. I'm about to switch the wireless pickup to the rear wheel and just put the computer in my seatbag to record trip time which is all I really need anyways thanks to gmaps pedometer.

I second the Cateye recommendation; I've had 4 different computers (1 cateye, 3 sigma) and only the sigma (albiet, just one of them) has had problems - mostly the magnetic contact points don't seem to register. Though, when the Sigma's do work, they work well - temp from -30 to +infinity.

I'm still going to have to root for the Mec wired computer. For $12 it really owns and no problems with interference since it's not wireless.

There is still just the one Jet Fuel on Parliament yes?
The Amy Millan Jet fuel yes.

In unrelated news <- getting contacts today mainly for cycling. Any pearls of wisdoms guys?

Cross bikes rock. Excellent riding, comfortable and very utilitarian. Big knobby tire's? Check. Full fender's? Check. Rack for beer? Check.

Good for any terrain, with just a change of tires, and built tough enough to take some damage (when involved in a collision ).

I'll look at the MEC as Operator.
As for lenses, ALWAYS bring your glasses, JUST in case.
First time in lenses?

Sure cheaper than prescription sunglasses, and we'll be able to see your pretty eyes better.
So...time-ish at Jet Fuel? Will they have Tour on after work? Coverage doesn't come on til 8.

From https://www.olntv.com/tdf/article/vie...tv&tf=Body.tpl :

Stage 6: Friday, July 7, 2006
Lisieux to Vitre
8:30am to 11:30am: LIVE Daily Coverage
12:00pm to 2:00pm: Race Action Replay
2:30pm to 4:30pm: Race Action Replay
5:00pm to 7:00pm: Race Action Replay
8:00pm to 11:00pm: Expanded Primetime Coverage
12:00am to 2:30am: Race Action Replay

I'll be there around 5:00. I just got word that a friend of mine who I haven't seen in like 6 years is on his way into the city however, so all my plans are sort of up in the air now. I don't expect to hear from him until the evening sometime though.

While I don't want to turn this into something long and boring, I was talking to my friend Sanders over lunch about the topic. He is going to be playing for the Western varsity basketball team next september (he actually wants to play volleyball in france professionally so he may switch to the volleyball team). Anyways, he's played a ton of competitive league sports and even more casual stuff... he's the sportiest person I know, if that means anything to you. Anyways he says it doesn't matter if people wear full team replica uniforms, you just might find some people jealous of your gear. Of course if you totally suck ass people may scoff at you but at least you're playing and not sitting in front of the TV. Wearing a sports team jersey is just as much advertising as a sponsor jersey as well. How much is MLSE worth these days? I say if you got em, rock em, plus I don't feel like I could really do very effective advertising for companies that for the most part do not exist in North America. If someone thinks you're an ass in full team kit they are free to drop you if they can. People who laugh at you for your clothes are just uncomfortable with their own stuff.

yo WES I like it!!! Still on for Jet?

Postive spin on going full Pro Kit!!!
Impersonating a pro will be a fantastic training tool, as everyone on two wheels is gonna have a go at you. You'll be fighting em off from the second you leave the house to the second you get home.

I have a long Kyrpto -U...it'll do. I will make sure I bring it from work.
I will however only be hangin' out for a wee bit.
You might be able to park in the back if they are agreeable.

Or they COULD be actually laughing at you. As a skatepunk in the 80's I experienced much of this.
To that end a person has to cut their cloth as it were, to do otherwise is the most despicable form of conformity.
I may not wanna wear Pro Kit, but I will defend anyone that wishes to. If a million people don't because their neighbor won't, I'll tip my hat to the one person that does.

Man, I wish skate punks would laugh at me! It would make my day! I see where you're coming from though; as long as you're in a social group with a status quo people are going to be hostile if you do anything that diverges from that or challenges their preconceptions of the way things ought to be. Its just human nature after all.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, the entire west end is a parking lot. Molson Indy plus Corsa Italia plus the regular Friday commute equals me very happy that I cycle. I finished up the GT and it rides really swell....fast and tight and the 56 is a nice fit for me. Geez, I am happy as hell today
