Anyone know anything about Guru bikes? I just saw my Gino-looking next door neighbor pull one out onto the road and ride away. Looked like this one maybe: http://www.gurubikes.com/store/index.php/cPath/22_71

Nay, not tonight my friend, homeward bounding. And honestly a keg between the two of us might lead to me being found floating face down somewhere liquid-y like the lake. While I can drink my face off, it's been many many moons since that type of training has been a routine. Night's to all.

ps. I think McEwan is the opposite of prudish:

a person who is or claims to be easily shocked by matters relating to sex or nudity.

OR

One who is excessively concerned with being or appearing to be proper, modest, or righteous.

**Abandoned Bike Alert**
Was coming home just now and at King and Strachan there is a Raleigh "Granny" bike frame near the TTC shelter. It has wheels but no rubber and no rim tape but it seemed in pretty good shape. If I had been in my car, I would have popped it in the truck fo' sho' to give to a friend but maybe someone here can use it?

i think jury's out on that one, although i'm sure popular opinion dictates that centrepulls are useless antiques. Paul makes a nice set of centrepulls but for a price. if you can get your paws on a set of mafac racers then go for it, they're as strong as any brake you'd want.

this article explains it better than i can.

And yes, I think leaving the steer-tube uncut is good for now as I am not sure how much I like this fork. I am so used to the aluminium Kinesis fork from my conversion that this one is a bit too spongey. Great input folks, I appreciate it
I'd like to give my 2 cents from earlier 53 - 16 that is big & would require a lot of energy to get going & stop. I’ve switch to 48 - 16 recently from my normal 48 - 18 i’m finding it not bad i'll probably switch back soon?
I’ve also been eyeing the velocity deep v's they look nice (brainwashing from bikeforums)
Nice build up
Cheers

Brook's...he of the massive legs and many track medal's....ride's a custom build time trial track from them. He love's it enough to take it over a Cervelo.

Good centrepulls eg: mafac are very good and generally have better mud clearance than sidepulls. As jeremy said there are only a few centrepulls worth using. I ran a set of Mafac's on my cross bike last season...they were great.

The bike rides nicely and isn't as stiff as I had anticipated, maybe because of the carbon fibre fork and seatpost. So far I love it and the gearing is fine for me (52X16) but I am going to have to learn to skid differently now. Questions? Comments?

Looks awesome Jet. Deep v's set it off nicely.

Tentatively setting up a CV for tonight. I've got a tonne of work to do, but I should (hopefully) be done before 9.

Be there or be... uh yeah.
