*sigh*

My frustration level is currently right up there. FedEx fubared my delivery rather nicely. Instead of delivering the frame this morning (as per my phone call w/ them last night), they left the frame off the truck today and sent out a letter in the mail informing me it was going to be returned back to the sender since I hadn't been there to pick it up on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd attempts. Here's the funny thing, there were no 2nd, 3rd attempts ... and apparently I was talking to someone who doesn't even work for FedEx last night because that conversation did absolutely ****-all. Now they're saying it will show up at my work sometime tomorrow between the hours of 10am and ... oh, let's say 6pm.

At least it will end up at the shop so I can start working on it as soon as the rest of the parts come in.

ugh.. fedex is the ****ing worst man. They always find a way to bungle things. Actually, I think all mail delivery type services are pretty craptacular. I mean, it isn't rocket science damnit!

The worst is when you order something that could be damaged in the mail. Every extra day it's out there it's more likely to get borked.

My current laptop took forever and a day to get to me (it was a custom build so it had to come from Apple in California). Thankfully it was totally unharmed!

Okay, on a brighter note - anyone catch the info from the Steve Jobs' keynote today at Macworld? The new iMac's look great ... hopefully they'll be able to dual boot Windows and OSX. That would be the perfect setup for me.

yeah, I saw some of the coverage after the fact. Good to know they're ahead of schedule. My powerbook is about a year old, which is good as far as I'm concerned. I'd prefer to give it another year or so for software companies to put out universal binaries and such. I'm also interested to see some objective reviews (say from arstechnica.com, or some other fairly objective / non-fanboy site) of the new intel platform. Just because Steve says the iMacs are 2x faster doesn't mean it's true... I mean, that's kind of a BS / subjective measurement in itself.

But yeah, dual-booting would be great. Also, if game companies could easily port to MacOS (or run in a dual-booting windows enviro) I would be ultra happy. It's the only thing the Mac lacks as far as I'm concerned. Although I got an xbox360, which is covering those bases quite well!

Anyhoo.. </nerdtalk>

After Jobs' presentation, Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller addressed the issue of running Windows on Macs, saying there are no plans to sell or support Windows on an Intel-based Mac. "That doesn't preclude someone from running it on a Mac. They probably will," he said. "We won't do anything to preclude that."

hahah.. yeah, no pics of my bike online. In fact, the only pics I have of it are on undeveloped film from my Holga. It's really not that exciting though. It looks like every other debadged urbanite -> Black with a chrome straight-blade fork.

Hey folks, any of you guys know of a Toronto powder coater who would be willing to do a bike. I'm looking for a nice custom paint job, the bike will need to be stripped etc.

If anyone has names, addresses, experiences, websites or prices I'd love any of them.

Thx.
