"Still got your Malibu?"
"Aw, man. You know what some fu*cker did the other day?"
"What?"
"Fu*cking keyed it."
"Oh, man, that's fu*cked up."
"Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of sh*t fu*cked with it."
"They should be fu*cking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution."
"Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that a*shole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it."
"What a fu*cker!"
"What's more chickensh*t than fu*cking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fu*ck with another man's vehicle."
"You don't do it."
"It's just against the rules."

There you have it

Heheheh, if someone keyed my car I would be put out but if someone ****ed with my Ciocc or GT or Roubaix, I would be very very pissed and if I caught them at it, yeah, I'd go all Travolta on their ass.

I'm not a big guy but I don't seem to have as much of a problem when I do have confrontations. I just steal their thunder and escalate first. While a lot of people are willing to threaten violence social pressures, especially in confrontational situations, will often prevent people from actually taking that step. So as soon as they start escalating an encounter I'll take it right to the edge of violence and stand there. If they make the next move and actually get violent I make sure I'll be in a self-defense position. I learned it while stealing girls away from dumb jock guys, you let them work the girl up and then you walk in and bully them into giving you the girl. Once or twice I've had punches thrown at me but I can handle that OK, and I'm always the person who gets to say "I was just talking when he decided to throw a punch" Stealing the frame is the psychological key. Oh and Shiz put me down for a mega horn as well, that'll certainly wake up the people parked in bike lanes.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean; Someone confronts you and you immediately escalate the situation to the point of fighting? Theres really nothing to be gained from getting in a punch-up with a motorist... especially if you are trying to goad them and encourage them to fight with you.

I gotta give you some cred though if you bully bullies into giving you their girlfriends. Sounds like you're the bully!

Its not taking it to a fight. Its knowing that if you escalate the situation to having two choice: getting into a fight or leaving 99% of the time someone will leave. Its exactly what the guys in cars are doing to you guys most of the time, I'm just reversing the situation so I'm the aggressor. I'm the one whose forcing him away. I learned it after watching what jock bullies used to do to me to get me to back down, now I do it to them. Psychology is great that way, were all programmed by society to react in certain ways most of the time so if you can take control of the situation and become the winner it doesn't matter where you started.

Read The Game by Neil Strauss you'll get more woman then you can dream of and learn this and more. Mystery and Style taught the 18 year old me more about life in 3 weeks then I had learned up to that point.

hahah this kid I worked with this summer wouldn't shut up about that book. He had some fancy black leather bound version of it and carried it everywhere. I can't read it now in good conscience. Anyways, I already got all my lady-killing advice from William S. Burroughs....

This sounds like Eddie Murphy's old schtick of how he avoided fights....get real quiet, bug out your eyes and stare at the guy. He will eventually think you are crazy and be too afraid of your crazyiness to fight you.

All I'm saying is it works for me. Different strokes for different folks but I disagree with letting someone intimidate me, no matter what the perceived difference is between me on my bike and jackarse in car

^word to dat^ Not pushing me off my line simply because you are in a car. Not gonna happen as long as I'm in front.

My poor bastard remark was aimed at operator getting his love advice from us here.

I don't let myself get intimidated. The guy in the prelude on saturday didn't scare me at all; he was trying to intimidate me, but he just pissed me off like crazy. Just because I wasn't the one taking steps to act like an as*hole doesn't mean he scared me at all. What does intimidate me is people not paying attention to me on the road, and in that case aggression doesn't mean anything and would be counterproductive in almost all cases.

When people get in my face I just stand up nice and tall, look down at them and take the moral high road. So far zero fights in my life so its been working admirably. Every time I act aggressively towards other people I end up ruining my day because it puts me in a terrible mood.

Unfortunately 5'9 115lb chinese guy with no self defense skills whatsoever = not so cool for getting into fights. Therefore I run away to hopefully be able to do that another day.

Is it bad to put grips from a mtb flat bar on drops or bullhorns? In an athestic way.

Not only is it not bad, its good!

I don't know what I'd do without the ourys slid up to the stem on my bullhorns. So comfy and grippy. Done properly it can look pretty cool too, but it looks pretty dumb unless they are next to the stem.

And I didn't even do it properly either. The ourys tend to twist over time but I don't really care as those yellow bars are on my beater now. The blue/black bars were unfortunately thrown away by my landlord the same day we moved out. D'oh, they were so narrow too! Lost the stem, frame, fork and headset as well, although the HS was shot anyways, and the fork was bent and the frame too flexy.
