Yes falling of the bike at a near stop sucks & sucks even harder when you can’t get your feet out in time for impact. Always a nice scene for on lookers. I know I’ve done it before.

Please tell me you did not get a ticket for some bicycle related thing? That would not be good at all.

Hehe, yeah, I know, I have too many bikes but the Pini was gone, apparently the High Park Cycles guy got it. Ah well, the Razesa fits pretty well and yeah, I will have to switch the shifters around, it will be much cleaner looking with downtube shifters.

Did anyone check out the Santa Claus Parade? What a nightmare traffic was today because of it, I just stayed in the west end and dodged a few SUVs racing along College. Some of these 905ers who come down on the weekends really have no idea how to drive downtown....driver's side wheel goes to the left of the streetcar track, not the other way around!

Yeah well, I wouldn't really say the 416'ers or 647'ers could drive either.

True, good point, I just meant that on the weekends it seems like I get into closer scrapes than usual.

Yeah, I saw that Cyclops, it looks great but I am curious about the repair on the top-tube. In that picture, it is hard to make out exactly what happened.

Yeaup, those GT's are legit. I knew of them about a year ago. It was just a matter of time before they were listed on ebay.

btw, how are level hubs? The flanges seems SUPER high. and since bikeophile isn't around, where can you source them in Canada now?

Weren't they listed a long time ago for the same price but they didn't sell? Or does this guy have a garage full of them?

I tried to call Level at the # I had for them....out of service. I needed an axle for the hub I had and couldn't get one...so I just put in some 6001 bearings and a Miche axle. Now I have a normal track nutted hub that I can space out to fit all my bikes. NICE!
glad I have 5 cogs for this hub as it might be a hassle getting more.

If you come across any extra let me know. I think I only have a 16 and a 17 (I'll check tonight)... If Level is going belly up, like people were afraid of when they came out, I may be screwed, like everyone was afraid of when they came out. The cogs are very durable so if I can get my hands on a couple more I think I'll be set even if production stops all together. (nice to hear it can take threaded axles and different bearings as well). Thats what I get for not getting phils like I originally planned I guess.

Well think about it this way. They'll be increasing in price rather than decreasing.

I wanted to get them on the phone but the # didnt work. The website is still up tho so maybe they just changed locations? Rob (Bikeophile) might still have a couple of cogs...I will ask him next time I talk with him.

Level was moving across the country, they posted about it somewhere on this board. I'm almost positive they did not go under but I'm sure a post to the wild main section of the board would give an answer pretty quickly.

Ever since I used to post on SA I have had this phobia of creating threads. I can see the "DID YOU EMAIL?" "DID YOU CALL?" "Level seems like a cool design but what about availability of parts?" "Why not just get phil?" "LOL" "Etc." posts now...

I had emailed them about a cog with no joy, so I'm hoping that they are still around. Otherwise I'll need to mill some cogs when I go home for Christmas.

Not really my bag, but pretty crazy bike, and one could do worse for the price (looks brand new based on the tires and drivetrain). It would fit me very well.

they're from: The Tread Mill
https://www.bikeadirondacks.org/bikeshops.html

and I kinda do want to get a level hub. just cause the flange is so high. Kinda looks like your running a drum brake.

This is weird, maybe someone in here can help me: I had an old cruiser bike stolen from in front of my apartment but I think it might have been taken by a cycling advocacy group. The bike is pretty beat up looking and one of the tires was flat, so the bike looked abandoned and I noticed yesterday that there was a flier attached to it, but I didn't read the flier and today the bike was taken sometime in the afternoon. What I think happened is that the flier said something along the lines of "If this bike belongs to you, please move it or the lock will be cut and the bike re-used"; I now recall something like this nearly happening to my friend's bike a few years ago, that is why I think this is what has happened here to me today.

Does this sound like something one of the bike advocacy groups in the city might do? Or has my bike just been stolen? It was locked up very well and it was taken in the middle of the day and the cut/broken lock was not left behind, which indicates to me that it was done very visibly. Maybe the city took it? It really was just a grocery-getter that I myself pulled out of a dumpster in the summer but I used it a lot and would like to get it back. Any ideas?

Most bikes I've seen tagged are by the city. You usually have a week after the bike is tagged to remove it. You can probably still get it back. https://www.toronto.ca/cycling/cyclom...005_sept.htm#4

It was a Planet Bike lock like this one; nothing super tough but thick nontheless.

Great link, thanks, I hope that these guys have it....I have 3 keys to the lock so I suppose that if I show up with one and, provided they've kept the lock, I will be in the clear. Thanks for the advice guys.
