its usually just a matter of spacers.

kinda windy today...57km/h gusts??! maybe that's why i almost got blown off front street this morning...
Comin off the lake? Had to hide behind a Gardner Pillar the other night for my green, lest I get blown onto LS
Looks like I have a tail wind going home. Dig it.
I couldn't tell what direction the wind was coming from tonight.. but I took little residential side streets North of Bloor the whole way home, which definitely helped!
my choices: front, adelaide, king. pick a wind tunnel. ooh, the gusts are down to 46km/h according to the weather network.
yeah, i meant 50km round trip from the north end of parkdale to to bluffers park and back. assuming you do a bit of a loop and not a straigt out and back. yes the spin down brimley is intense. i'd say harder on my hand as i only have one brake.Originally Posted by veteran_youth
yeah a 15% grade isn't an exaggeration; your right that's the worst part, it does flatten out a bit then kick up at the end which i always found a bit tough on the ego.
on another note, there are other real hills around if you feel like leaving the city a little. bell school line (north west of mississagua) is notorious for being a "walker" as is pumpkin hill (past the holland marsh west of 400).
i love that restaurant! furniture reminds me childhood and they serve salsa with eggs. and good smoothies too.Originally Posted by fixedude

word! parkdale was my old stomping grounds for many years...used to live at king/dowling with a nice view over the lake (next door to the owner of easy), and was staying at queen/sorauren over the holidays.Originally Posted by jeremywhitehorn
for anyone eastside, you should really make an effort to check out "GRACE'S" on the southwest corner of eastern/carlaw for the old skool food scene and hanging out with the 'regulars'. i think almost everything is under $3, like grilled cheese/fried egg/etc. sandwiches for around $2. the woman who owns it is so kind and awesome, too! go there. now!
What are y'alls favorite pubs/hangouts/etc? I'm trying to branch out.
Green Room!!! But not when you'd think! They've got a 3$ breakfast there that's just awsome!!! 3$ for two eggs, fries, toast, bacon, and a salad! Definitely the finest breakfast place in my opinion. Watch out though, during the summer white russians turned me and a couple friends 20$ breakfast into a 180$ breakfast/all day drunkfest... so you've been warned
hahahah.. nice. But yeah, the green room is already on "the list".
'the olde york tavern' on niagara.
'house on parliament' on...take a guess.
'ted's collision' on college.
'mezzerow's' (sp?) on queen.
'whalen's' on bloor.
Saigon Palace..... Spadina just below College. mmm good Vietnamese.
Gio Rana's Really Really Good Restaurant. NW corner of Queen/Leslie.
Famous restauranteur .."the nose" from Amex commercials. the nose has been added to the nameless signage of this old bank of Montreal branch. Laid back ....damned good food, good prices(though not dirt cheap), plates are made for ordering lots of things and sharing around the table. Awesome good times had there with a few friends. Not the place for a friday night messenger piss up though.
DAmn not reading properly..... pubs..opps sorry guys.
Yeah, I think it'd be hard to find someone who doesn't have the green room on the list... I just recently discovered the breakfast though and now it's a whole new green room for me :-). I'm living in ottawa for school right now so I'm gonna have to start taking notes too. I've pretty much just stayed in the annex during my brief trips back home, so I'll leave the "hip" hangouts to those still living there :-)
Hey anyone going to The Ice Cup in Montreal?
I love and miss Montreal for all it's eatin and drinkin spots.
Mmmmm. Curry chicken noodle soup.......Originally Posted by TRaffic Jammer

Related Question #1: Anyone doing anything fun and exciting this weekend? My schedule is a mostly blank canvas (hence my original question).
number 104.... Satay Beef on salad.
Going to Barrie Sat to see some friends and in-laws come back from Philippines on Sunday.
Kids will be thrilled to see grandparents again.
Off topic even farther, but if you haven't eaten here you need to:
Addis Ababa Restaurant 1184 Queen St W.
Eithiopian food. Good. Very good. Get the mixed vegetarian platter.
I swear I am going to hang around here more regularly! How are things going? I haven't popped in here since New Years day. I switched to working afternoons at my "DAY" job 6pm-2am and getting used to the schedule has kinda wiped me out for a few weeks.
But I am really hungry and want pork buns..LOTS of pork buns..so if anyone is going on early afternoon bun runs I'm in
JEREMY! Awesome to see you on the board too!
Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well!!
I'm up for lunch/pork buns anytime. Now that I have a pass it doesnt cost me extra to transit anywhere.
damn.. i think you'd be hard-pressed to find anything bad in chinatown. best noodles: swatow. best pho: pho hung. korea town also has dirt-cheap eats and cheaper booze. hmm, contemplating a pork bun run today but it's pretty damn chilly. operator and sr2, hook us up in richmond hill!!
supposed to be 7 degrees tomorrow and 5 on Saturday. woo.
