Successfully showed everyone at bike chain how NOT to built a track wheel. Let that be a lesson to you! Took it home, and rebuilt it perfectly first try. I don't know what was going on in there. I guess I can't talk and lace wheels at the same time.

(for those who weren't there: The spokes I brought to the clinic were pre-measured a week ago. Problem is, I put the wrong markings on them apparently, so I built the wheel with the long spokes on the drive side, and the short on the other. Also, the valve hole didn't line up right)

The wrong spoke thing I can understand, that was just a dopey thing to do. Duh! But I don't understand the valve thing. I put the key spoke in the same hole when I got home, and it worked out perfectly.

If things CAN go wrong, they WILL when you are teaching a wheel building class in front of 20 people.

Hope it was at least helpful.

I assumed you were showing us how to use the wheel dish tool properly...

Is was informative. Glad I went, thanks for the lesson.

Wes, I just got home now and saw your flyer, otherwise I defintely would have checked out your band. Also, I think I saw you riding west on College near Bathurst 5ish? I was going the other way, after making a drop at 489 College.

Robin, I'm an idiot I forgot that today was thursday or something. I was planning to go the wheel building clinic thursday but somehow it just didn't come together in my head.

If you are in the area, you should come by the shop and see the track bike build that will nearly be done once I finish this wheel on Saturday.

It's a DeBernardi like Ronin used to have. Should be sweet.

Yeah I don't know much about removing anodizing, but when you're down to bare metal, it's pretty easy. Basically you just wet sand up to as fine a grit as you want to go then wash with soap and water. At this point you'll have a smooth dull/matte finish. Then apply some Brasso (if it's steel, aluminum polish if aluminum), let dry and buff it off. I actually did 4 coats of Brasso because the post seemed to absorb the first few applications. On this bike I have Steel Nitto bars, a nice shiny old Phillipe stem and polished silver wheels (rims/hubs/spokes), polished Campy cranks so the seatpost had to match. As it was an obscure French size and the only one I could find was black I had to apply a little DIY to get the effect I wanted.

This is a hilarious ironic joke music project of a couple of my friends:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndid=128384395

The song "I'm in 2 U" up there right now is so ridiculous and yet really catchy it was in my head all day today!
The really high falsetto voice is my friend James. These guys are hilarious and have a bunch of really funny songs, I hope they put more up on the Myspace. You are all going to hate me when you can't get this song out of your heads!
