i'm starting a pool to see how long duppy can keep his white deep v's gleaming. i'm thinking you should carry a tooth brush in the hat / afro ghetto-sneaker-cleaning-style to keep those bad boys shining!

anyone know where i can get a black cycing cap? i'm thinking of those campy or cinelli ones with the world champ stripes down the middle. i checked at urbane/dukes and nada.

Keith is quite right I actually have two black cycling caps. I have a black Cinelli one that has Italian flag stripes and I have black Brooklyn one that has the world champ stripes. I guess your head might be different than mine, but I think my red Campagnolo hat has the best fit of my cycling caps. It has a noticably smaller bill as well. It has world champ stripes and it comes in black as well I think. They pop on Ebay for cheap every once in a while. I got mine from Nadir at La Carrera. He only had one red one and I think he had a pink one as well, though no black as I remember. I got my Cinelli cap from Urbane, but they only get cycling caps in sporadically. My others I got as a package deal from this guy on Ebay selling them really cheap with cheap shipping.

edit: I am loving this four day work week with wednesdays off. I did it to help my knee heal (doctor recommendation) but it's just all around nice. Too bad things are slow right now and I'm not making enough money on the other four days :(

I checked out this auction, and noticed that the shipping cost to Toronto was $53. I love when you can buy the hat for $1 but end up paying $55 to get it. Classic!

i know bicicletta used to carry them when their store was still here on bloor west. i'll have to get up there some time and check. not the kind of thing i want to get in an ebay auction.

HAHAHA...ebay is rampant with that. a buck for a padded envelope and standard postage can't be anymore than 5-7 bucks FOR A CAP. granted, his other usps rate is 10 bucks. it's beyond me why people use these "hidden" costs that aren't so hidden. t-shirts are another thing. jesus christ, just put it in a plastic bag and ship it!! it's not going to get damaged because it's a FLIPPING T SHIRT. (it's a slow work morning for me.)

This morning front street was so insane... I had no less than 3 taxis pull unsignalled U-turns that required me to take evasive actions. I also almost smashed the driver side window of a cab as it pulled out in to me. The cabbie looked so surprised, he almost crashed as he swerved back into the spot. He was on his phone. A cabbie did an unsignalled U turn just outside my office and I almost crashed (I recovered from highsiding myself). I lane split from Portland all the way over to Bay but had to do an S in between cars about every 5 cars because people were either hugging the curb or sitting between lanes. One guy purposely (or at least it seemed that way) tried to block me, but I squeezed by and he started yelling at me as I rode away which was funny. When traffic is THIS bad, i don't get mad, but when its light people still mess with me I get pissed because its so unnecessary.

I try to avoid harbord these days. Such stupid bike lanes on so many sections...

Dan.... is the Wed off to offer some relief mid week, or would the Monday be better with three days resting? Knowing full well you will ride at least once in those three days.... moot point regardless?

Oh yeah Operator, so you don't like huge gaudy brand names on bikes, but you do like big gaudy brand logos? ;)
