ps. how conditioned and I by Starbucks' marketing that all I have to see is half a green straw and I'm craving a $5 drink? And I only go there a few times a year! I'm going to chalk it up to the fact that it's first thing in the morning, I'm craving some good coffee and I'm half way through a lovely concoction of apple juice and greens+.
I am bored.

My daughter is kickin' my butt in Down Domination ps2...
I think maybe my cinelli stem is a 26.0. It was pulled off a 1990 pinarello, and I put some 26.0 bullhorn bars in it last night and it seems to work fine even if I push on the ends of the horns hard. Is this what happens when you put a 26.0 bar in a 26.4 stem?
You get .4 of lonely.....shim time? This is the exact reason why a good shop will have a liberal supply of beer cans available as raw material.
I dont want to be back in toronoto
It appears to work perfectly though. Upon examining the clamp area with a magnifying glass I can't really see any ovalization of the stem clamp in relation to the bar, its not slipping, and the 2 flanges the clamp bolt pulls together seem parellell and not pulled too close together. I didn't have to torque on it like crazy either.
no you would get a bit of slipping if you were to use and old cinelli stem with a standard road bar. i believe the old oversized clamp cinellis had a bolt that tightened at the back if that's any clue.Originally Posted by Shiznaz
you could always shim it a little if you're worried.
Keith if you see this I'm going to come by just after noon today 'cause I have to work some OT. Hope its not too much of a pain.
you're thinking about this more than i would; i'd just clamp it, ride it and if it slipped, drink a guiness and cut up the can to shim it.Originally Posted by Shiznaz
I'd normally be the same way, but I'm taking it to the track on saturday and will have barley any test ride time available, so I don't want the bars to slip when I'm riding and take down all the rec riders... better safe than sorry when there are other people and splinters involved. I guess if it works with bullhorns, it will work with drops since you get so much more leverage with horns.Originally Posted by jeremywhitehorn

I thought the same thing. That's what happens when you read too many magazines before you get into cycling. Somebody should email him and offer to sell him a powertap
