Yep, set a measly snipe on it ... didn't win. Gotta get the current one finished first, anyway.

Edit: On a related note, that's the second aluminum Aerotrack frame / fork + headset, bb that I've seen go for $200 on eBay. If anyone else wants one, just cough up $215 in the last 5 seconds and it'll be all your's next time one comes up.

wonder why these aero tracks don't follow the current ebay trends for track bikes/parts.

Few reasons:
- made by a boring U.S. company (ie. no classic Italian or Japanese NJS "cred")
- some models are aluminum
- limited size options
- sloping top tube
- toe overlap
- tig welded

I'm sure I could come up w/ some more reasons, but it's not really worth the effort. I'll spare you the boring story, but the KHS Aerotrack was the bike that got me interested in track bikes. Because of that I've always had an itch to find one for myself.

- eyefloater

PS. Get your ass out to the bike show. I don't care if you're broke.

Grease or Ganja....?
No need of favors for passes..... if I'm too get for free then I MUST pass them off for free, to do otherwise is simply bad juju. What's the lock up situation like at the show? Safe-ish or a full on street level shopping? Is moonbeam the place for a good greasy breakfast? I usually make it at home once a weekend. mmm Bacon, sausages, eggs, home fries, beans (i don't eat eggs so it's my substitute)..coffee and OJ

lol now how hungry are ya?

Spicy beef patty and coco bread mmmmmm awesome...now I'm getting hungry.
First come first served on these passes, I'd like to get' em first lest I disappoint you lads. Unless of course we can read some awful pathetic stories as to why someone should save a pass. Time I don;t know yet I'm pretty flexible as getting out without the wife and the kids is pretty exciting to begin with...lol (You KNOW I love ya honey).

All I need is a cuppa coffee or two and a smoke (tis the week-end after all)
and I'm good to go. I'm riding in from Leslie/Queen. Unless reports are no joy on the lock up situation. Last thing I can afford is having the ride shopped on.lol

The lock up situation at these bike shows is usually pretty freakin bad. Just a heads up... The prime locking real-estate tends to be chain link fence

Yeah, there isn't a whole lot around the Ex. If you can lock around the main entrance though there's enough traffic and security that I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm not sure if I'm going to ride mainly due to the fact that I might buy some stuff and I don't know if I want to ride home with it on my back.

So are we in general agreement to TTC/hoofing to Moonbeam for a meet and greet then off we go? I'd lose my mind to have my ride tinkered with. Simply can't afford replacing stuff. It'll be nice to meet some of ya finally. I think we must have passed each other at the Ice Races a couple weeks ago.

ICE RACE UPDATE.... Who is a representative of said Ice Races....a bug has been planted within the marketing dept @ Red Bull...they definitely sound interested but I DONOT wish to step on any organizer toes.... Everyone I spoke to at the race said oh yea great, but honestly I don;t think they thought it could/would actually happen. Between my wife and I we have some pretty cool marketing /promotional connections.

eh, I'd still lock up outside the show, but thats just because I have a beater I ride in the winter. Any of my nicer bikes and I'd do the transit thing. Maybe I can just tail the bathurst street car!

Alls I knows is that the guy "MC'ing" the thing (who was announcing the heats and such) is the owner (I assume he's the owner.. he's always been there the couple times I've gone in, and the place is tiny) of The Bike Joint on Harbord. So, he might be a good contact person.

sweeet sounds like a good place to start. I remember speaking to him, he's a good egg.

BIKE SHOW update...... the sales lady who is responsible for the bike show advertising has gotten a call from the show and her/my tickets are ready. Stay tuned for the announcement. Turns out they are 14 floors above my head. I may risk the parking sit just to ride....... indecision ...arggh my nemesis!!!

there is an underground parking lot that is in use during the show that has "bike parking". i lock mine up to the railing outside the doors leading to the escalator. never had a problem, there is usually a parking attendant there anyway. enter via the parking garage at the trade centre.
there are also several of the city-installed "post and loop" bike parking rings outside the builing from what i remember...

I'll hook up with you guys for coffee @ moonbean, and then I am going to ride down. I don't think locking up down there is a big problem unless your bike is super pimped. In previous years I have always locked up in front, I seem to remember some steel railings.

Maybe we could shoot for moonbean at noon? comments?

enter via the underground parking garage on the west side of the building. lock up near the doors once you're underground at they will take you up the main level. look for the bikes already locked up. you can't miss it.
