so i work in social services. today i managed to fix a flat for one of our clients, but i can only do so much!

any suggestions for a place to send low-income folks? i could do some research, but it seems like y'all are looking for something to do... i don't know if the community bike network is open/has funding? i've never been to bike pirates? is bike chain for students exclusively? would shops downtown get annoyed with people coming in to use the pump? any other places i'm forgetting?

    thanks!
"Never do anything that you wouldn't want to have to explain to the paramedics."

"His first words were 'did you bike today?' I hesitated before admitting that I had, thinking I was going to get a lecture on how bad the roads were and how I shouldn't try to bike home. Instead he said 'man, you're lucky! I've been sitting in traffic for over 1/2 hr, and I've only gone about 2 miles. Some guy on a bike passed me about 20 minutes ago and I'm sure he's home by now'."

Bike Pirates is prolly a good place to suggest...but they are only open a couple days a week. Any shop that doesn't have a pump for public use and/or be willing to pump up folks tires for free is not a shop worth recommending to anyone.

Does anyone use a beanie type thing under their helmet? I was thinking about how much sun my head must get riding, and I thought it might be good to wear something under it which might help my sweat too
I rode CanadaWide for Cancer in 2006! I rode 6850km and raised over $110 000 for kids with cancer. Check out the journal at: http://www.cyclingforcancer.ca

Keith thanks so much for the conversion, it may not be as pretty but it sure fits a ton better.

Shiz I took a look at an 07 flite 100, its actually a pretty sweet ride I might pick one up
I've had the craziest week in the best way possible with a combination of amazing weather and wonderful news from work. Sorry the alleycat video is taking awhile but paying projects have to take precedence. Hopefully it'll be up soon and I'll have DVDs for the safety meeting.

damn it offhoff.. don't make me switch back to an old pc just for the games.

ps. anyone going to watch Pedal tonight? Operator, I assume you are. Will you be on teh bicycle? I call for Pedal + CV hijinks. It's been a while!
pps. speaking of CV, anyone doing anything for CM on friday? I've got band practice as usual, but I'd be potentially up for doing something afterwards.

If there is a CV that isn't too crazy late I'll come out for sure.

Probably with Steigl in honor of Colin and my mission to make a Steigl covered TT protector.
