Farthest I've done was a metric century... and that was on my road bike. What is a realistic starting point for this thing fitness wise? |

In other news: Zippered, I think I found a light mount that should work with your Planet Bike light. How best to get it to you? |

Wow, I didn't check the forums until now. Thanks for posting that awesome photo Colin :( Colin and I both mastered riding with one leg over the bars and then sort of transitioning from that into a crappy awkward skid. Did anyone else feel let down by the "tricks" aspect of the night? I mean the being on bikes part was cool and the hanging out part was cool but I dunno... tricks are kind of um boring. I prefer riding. Maybe it's just me. Jumping off of stuff/riding down stairs and stuff on a bmx or mountain bike those kind of tricks are fun :D
I really want to do the off-road ride friday. If I get my mountain rig moving before then and I haven't gone home to my folks' place by then, then I'm in too. Oh, and go to Dumpling House on Spadina. Seriously it's awesome. Monday night I went there twice! |

What is a realistic starting point for this thing fitness wise? i would personally try some longer rides (like a 200 km brevet as Wes said) before i would attempt a double century. But, from my experience, a long ride on a fixie is no more diffucult than a long ride on a road bike (i've done 200km+ rides on both). in fact, long miles on a fixie help keep your legs from cramping as they have no time to sit idle and build up lactic acid. |
