I have never tried the spray. Something under pressure would prolly get in the nooks and crannies better than powder. That being said I have always had great luck with the regular powder...just give it a squirt and its golden.

Who do people use for tennant insurance, and how do they deal with bikes? I want to get some in case my bikes get stolen, but the last time I called when I explained the price of my road bike, they seemed to either assume that I was a) lying or b) talking about a motorcycle.

I can just imagine them saying 'no problem, we'll give you $500 replacement cost for your bike" and me spending that $500 to buy a gun...

We use the same company for our car, home and business. We got a screaming deal as the owner of the broker is a friend of Mindy's father. The best way to get what you need without having to pay exorbitant premiums is to get hooked up with an "inside deal". My bikes are covered (well over $10,000..$500 deductable) but most places will want to charge you extra to cover bikes. If your parents have insurance this is the best way to get hooked up....long time customers (or relations of) get the bonus as they are not totally new/unknown to the broker. Did I mention insurance agents get all giddy at the prospect of sticking it to cold callers? Find an "in" and it will be much less painful.

Side note: I got an awesome auto/tenant's insurance deal through Meloche-Monnex. It's group insurance, so you need to be part of "something" (eg. university alumni, unionized employee, etc). Not sure about the bikes, but it was actually cheaper for me to get the tenant's insurance in addition to my auto insurance. If I have more than 1 policy with them I get a discount on the others which takes more off my auto insurance than I'm paying for the tenant insurance.

Is it wrong that my bikes are worth more than my entire clothing wardrobe?
*Cue the ghetto fashion comments*
Its amazing the figures you come up with when figuring out house contents values.
The first place I cold called when I needed insurance for the van quoted me $4500 a year for just liability. We ended up paying 1/4 of that with the hook-up.

I use Meloche-Monnex. They are pretty good in my experience too. For actually making a claim, it kind of depends. There may be a cap unless you've specficially listed it on our policy and depending on the deductible, it may not be worth making a claim (yeah, some racket). Some helpful info here:
https://www.tdcanadatrust.com/tdinsur...entre/stol.jsp. If you're specifically looking at covering high cost bicycles, probably better to do that by specifically scheduling them rather than covering them under a general policy.

Sarah Silverman is damn funny. I don't find many female comedians very funny, but she's good.

Individual
1. Levi Leipheimer (USA) 234 points
2. Jens Voigt (Ger) 104
3. Svein Tuft (Can) 80
4. Pat McCarty (USA) 56
5. Juan Jose Jaedo (Arg) 50

Team

1. Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 303 points
2. Team CSC 255
3. Symmetrics Cycling 100
4. T-Mobile 86
5. Team Slipstream powered by Chipotle 70

Does this have any bearing on the possibility of seeing Mr Tuft on TDF? I don't know exactly what the requirements are.

Symmetrics doesnt have a spot at the tour. They are a domestic pro team I think.
