I so don't get it. We can say the plural for kittens but not the singular. The word you mentioned might be offensive to a few people, but I think it would be ideal for everyone to be civil and not be censored.

Yesterday I went out with my non-cyclist dad. He did wear a helmet, which he initially put on backwards.
