Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The new Corvette is too fast. If I don't post here again, assume the car killed me.

I can check with my dad to see if he wants to race you in his 1986 Mercedes convertible.

I am guessing you would win.

Speaking of classic cars, one of my patients restores really old cars. These are apparently museum pieces. Lemme see if I can drag up a link....

ok apparently the museum that houses many of the cars he has restored is here:https://www.simeonemuseum.org

The only tire that's played that game with me is a GP4000S, and it was just before a hillclimb. This was after doing my openers 24 hours previously on the trainer. The bike was ready to load on the truck, and I ran in the house, and that's when I heard the noise. Frustrating indeed. I think those tires should be on a nationwide recall.

Now that I've decided that to put an end to major operations in the yard, MN has decided that it's time for April showers. One of these days I'll get on the bike, until then, at least the weather has been good for the plants -

Never?

I've had a couple. Went boom from having a little tube under the tyre bead.

I just posted on "Regional" looking for suggestions on where to ride in Westfield, NJ. It's pretty developed so I suspect the right answer is "nowhere."

My daughter has a synchro meet this weekend there, and I was hoping to get a little ride in. Stay tuned.

Dude. Tyres made for regular civilians can't handle your level of output.

Conti put out a batch of Ultra Sports several years ago that just kept on bulging in the sidewalls after 500km or so. I know they were cheap, but they served Machka and me well for thousands of miles of randonneuring (more her than me). So it's not just the GP4000s where there are quality control issues with the fabric layup and moulding. The tyres, if I remember rightly, were made in Thailand.

I wonder how valuable an asset the driver is feeling after the semi-wedgie. Or maybe they are referring to the truck.

...I blew a tube completely to hell from a pinch while inflating it, but that's it. #honest . I don't count that as stationary, because it was in the process of inflation. Riding is a whole 'nother story.

The tyre sizes for the RuffyTuffy's might be limited to 700c (can't remember).

I guess maybe you could always go tubeless.

Who? In the picture? That's Pippa, sister of Catherine The Duchess, sister-in-law of Prince William.
