Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, I have a carbon bike. I'm a fan of the latest space age materials.

Oh, just remembered, I get to stop by the LBS on the way home today. I ordered in some brake levers for the drops on my daughter's bike since I'm not a fan of the cross style brakes. I think you lose some control when you go to the tops and braking is when you need the most control (imho).

Also, I'm getting a bottle cage, bottle, brake cables/housing, and pedals with toe clips. Gloves, kit, and helmet will have to wait until she is with me to pick out.

For today's purchases I'll be going to the independent shop I do the accounting for. I've spent enough at Erik's Bike Shop in the last month (just ask my wife).

ER doc: "Hey Dr Heathpack can you look at a puppy for me? Presenting for inability to eat and a funny facial expression."

Tetanus, yep, lockjaw. There's really nothing else it could be. Thorn in paw two weeks ago.

Completely reversible if dog does not die of a complication first. It depends on how bad it gets. Right now she can open her mouth about 1 inch and we actually just got her to eat some soft food. She can still walk. Dogs are pretty resistant to tetanus, so if it doesn't get too much worse she will probably survive and become normal again, it will just takes weeks to a few months. If it gets worse to the point where she can't eat or drink, if she can't walk, or if it affects her breathing muscles, she will probably need to be euthanized. We can put in a feeling tube maybe if its just a matter of an inability to eat/drink. The problem is we need to be able to get her mouth open to do that, we may not be able to, even under anesthesia. So we'll have to see how things progress over the next few days.

I had the same thought. I make sure that it is hetero by thinking how jealous I am of him.

I just observed that the packaging on the endless supply of almonds my wife gave me, identifies the almonds as "Superfood + Almonds"

If I eat enough of these I will either:

Be dead

Prepared to win the Giro de Italia, Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana in a single year.

No thoughts on being cut from another piece but it's still cool. I love the Giro.
