Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice for the style points.

The Glencoe race is May 30. But, I'm not racing that one. I am Meet Referee for a swim meet that day.

So you were not being entirely truthful when you posted above? How your wife was entering you in the race?

Nice!

I would like to trade my seven year old Giant for a new one. Probably next year or this fall. Still looking at the Felt, but I really like the Giant Propel.

No. That was part of an all day long story of my wife plotting my demise.

Back on the bike, cardio seems to be strong. Muscles on the other hand get pretty sore when hammering. 19.5 mph over almost 15 miles with about 750 ft gain.
I was actually pretty impressed with the 19.5 average for the amount of gain, nothing crazy but definitely not flat by any means.

Haha, I'm not getting a new bike. Di2 on the Sparrow. That's all.

Canyon aeroad SLX or Cervelo S5. I think the S5 beats the other in the wind tunnel marginally, but the canyon is much more comfortable from what I have heard.

Welcome back to the bike, Bunny!

(And I'm sorry but 750 ft is flat)

Not as far as I know. At least when she left for O'hare to board an airplane headed for your coast this morning she was pleasant. But, that could have been a ruse for her ultimate plan.

pfffffffffffft....

That's not flat.

I've got rides in my Garmin that are 15 miles with 150 ft of gain.

Thanks, it sure felt good to get back on the bike.

Your subjective statement is only relative, but the 750 over 14.5 is sure down for me. This is the flatest 15 miles I could do from my house that results in a loop. I might my special 1.6k of climbing over 3.5 miles to really get back into muscle shape quickly.

The flattest thing I've got is the bike paths, they're about 400 ft in 15 miles. I honestly don't know what flat is.

Question: If your dog were to chase Bunny, would she run in a straight line?
Follow-up: Would she catch him?

Heartbreak Hundred is Saturday. Frazier Park, that is semi-your-neck-of-the-woods.

FYI.

Could the dog hold 8w/kg for a minute?

Too soon, Finals come next week and it will be tough this time around. In September we are having a local GranFando, I am already signed up for that

But thanks though.

If I remember right from her races, her best speed race was about 32 mph. And I believe that was for a 600 yard race. Greyhounds are fast, but they are sprinters, not distance runners. She is still that way. When I gut her loose in the back yard she goes all out for about five minutes, then she is done.

That would be a long ride. Not even exactly sure where abouts in Oregon that is but it's gotta be a long ways out in the sticks.

It's near Medford. A long ride, but look at it as a challenge to be conquered.

Speaking of challenges in southern Oregon, I really gotta get off my ass and do this race this year:

Mt Ashland Hill Climb Bike Race

That race has a hill. I would not enjoy it. I would have to put a double double chanring on my crankset.

HP, if you are putting 11 speed Di2 on the Sparrow, won't it need 11 speed compatible wheels? Or does it have them already?
