I started with about a scoop and a half in each bottle. At the first rest stop, I only needed to fill one bottle, so that was the first package of skratch. At the second stop, I needed to fill a second bottle and used skratch and the other bottle was about 3/4 empty with Heed, so it just got topped off with water.
Early in the ride we were mellow with the wind at our backs and with a group of 8 there was room to hide in the pack. I was surprised at my heart rate too, which helped me to stay with the group for most of the ride. I was consciously trying to conserve energy most of the day. I have to give credit to four of the guys in the group that did most of the pulling while the rest of us hid in the draft. No way I was going to go that fast on my own
. Also you can see at about mile 100 when I was working with the other rider when I was pulling vs drafting in my HR.
I calculated about 1200 calories consumed on the ride. But as you say, my HR was never above Z3. And the ride to and from was easy as well, so that brought the numbers down too.

1200 cal/6 hr is 200 cal/hr. That does make sense.
Again, nice ride. Wish I could go fast.

They're coming. It was a great weekend of riding but was marred by a rider getting killed head-on by a drunk driver only a couple miles from the end of the 100 miler.
