Yeah but you are running them tubeless so you can get away with lower pressure. My 38s are tubed. I will probably have to break them out eventually or I risk getting dropped from my club rides.

Does look like a gorgeous area...How are the hills? Here we have a lot of short/steep and when you cut across the topography it can get quite taxing...evil stairsteps, very buzzsaw profiles. Some really great runs though, Especially North to South once you've worked your way up...I have a few where it's 16+ miles essentially downgrade...
The real beauty is that you can easily get to back roads with minimal traffic and horse farms in pretty short order. I think that's a challenge in metro NYC.

On our way back, we rode up on a fellow who, at one point in time, had been riding in the opposite direction of our current path. He was standing near the side of the MUP with his bike leaning up against him, looking down at it with the deer in the headlights look. As we rolled up on him I told the two clowns to stop. I asked him if he was okay. He said he got a flat and I asked him if he needed anything or needed help. He repeated....I have a flat, I think I ran over some glass back there. I asked him if he needed a tube and he said it would be nice if I had one. As I pulled a tube out he took the rear off the bike and stood there with it giving me the deer in the headlights look. I asked him if he had tire levers or needed some. Yep....no tire levers. At that time he claims he has never had a flat. So, I give him mine. He gets the tire off and the tube out. Yep...deer in the headlights look again. I tell him to run his fingers around the inside of the tire to check for shrapnel. I put a couple pumps on the tube, determine where the hole is and narrow his search. Tire seems clean so we put everything back together. Yep....deer in the headlights time again. Me....ummm...you need a pump? Get the tire pumped up he puts the wheel back on the bike while I'm putting everything back in the saddlebag. I'm getting ready to get moving and the dude offers me a Jackson. I said no, he said no really, take it. I said no, you need to go to the take that Jackson to the bike store and get some tubes, tire levers and a pump.

Yup...I need to ride a good 20 miles before I can get into the truly rural... the plus side is quite varied terrain within the area...

I wear a Triple E, and they fit nicely. If these didn't do it, I was going custom. I have Sidi Mega, and they aren't as wide, but the shoe leather is soft enough that it conforms pretty well. I have always had foot issues, but I just htfu during the long stuff I've done. It was getting worse, so the search was on. These work.

Duathlon was so much fun!
My partner and I took first place over all, 2.4 mile run with a 10.3 mile bike, then the run again. We won by less than a minute, I held 22.8 mph for the course with over 400 feet of climbing. There was another cyclist that was close behind me, he was an older man (70 I heard) with a very nice bike, TT bike with zipps, it looked very nice. On the flats he would get closer, and closer. He was maybe 15 seconds behind me, I almost blew up trying to keep him out of my draft. On the hill section I pulled to about 90 seconds ahead, but he made up for it on the downhill and flats, I was only 30-45 seconds ahead of him when I tagged my partner.
I was really amazed at his performance, I had couple of jaw dropping moments when he was still behind me on some sections. I would be lucky to still be on a bike racing others at that age, I really respected his performance.
Got our registration fee back for winning, really fun experience!

Man am I glad that I don't have to listen to people *****ing about cyclists in PP anymore. Equally glad that I don't have to listen to cyclists *****ing about peds in PP anymore, either.

I hardly ever ride there, it's my test track when I've had work done at the shop, it's only 3 miles away...so today I had a new rd put on, new hanger, cable and housing. Went and did 30 to work out the kinks, roll back in and get it tightened up. When in the Park, either one...I don't take it all srsly like the tight-ass roadies... I kinda cruise with the idea that foot pedestrians get the safety deference. No such thing as "fast" there imo...I go North for that or over to Jersey...

But, I have zero elevation. I can ride twenty miles and have 500 feet of climb and that consists of a few overpasses.

So I am still riding the Roubaix with the "boat anchor" stock wheels. I was thinking of breaking out the Williams 38 wheels for today's ride, but I am SO GLAD I did not. We had a few sections of milled pavement that was very rough, plus a large assortment of uneven pavement and potholes. Even the patched potholes are kinda rough. I may need to stick with these heavier wheels with 25mm width tires for the foreseeable future...any advice/suggestions?

Got home. Garmin fail was at the 98 mile mark.
So Garmin data for just the first 98 miles was 17 mph moving speed. Ya'll that's blazing for me. 5:45 moving time, elapsed time in Strava is wrong because it took me awhile to find an external battery so that I could get some juice in order to stop the ride. But it should be 7 hours elapsed time. Totally could have been close to a 6 hour total elapsed time if I wasn't waiting for and riding slower because of my team.
Also, a bit of a triumph because I'm awful in heat. Most of the day was very reasonable temp-wise, but we finished with an 8 mile climb, it was 99 degrees for that. And I did not blow up, still was a functional, non-nauseated cyclist.
Its much much easier for me to grab and hang onto a wheel nowadays. The little surges it takes to do that used to be hard for me, I just couldn't do those repeated bursts of power output. I have finally gotten the hang of it, that helps tremendously.
