Di2 Junction Mount Options
I usually exist in the Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets sub-forum and I was not sure if posting this in the '41' was appropriate, but I have a few things that I designed for people who want some alternatives to the standard Shimano Di2 Junction 'A' Clip.
First up is a Di2 Junction Clip built into a 5 mm headset spacer. This is for people who do not want to use straps, ties or tape to attach a Junction 'A'. The use should be rather obvious.

Next up is a clip that bolts onto a water bottle boss. A number of newer Di2-Ready frames are coming with additional bosses, usually for external batteries. If you are using the internal battery this frees up a location for the junction.

Then there is a Junction 'A' clip that can be taped onto the underside of your stem. FYI, this is the one I currently use on my bicycle.

Lastly, for anyone using a K-Edge out front style Garmin computer mount, here is an interface for mounting your Junction box to the bottom of the K-Edge.

I designed these for my own use and have some designs up on the YouMagine and Thingiverse file repositories for anyone who wants to print some stuff out on their own 3D printer. I have also had several requests for various mounting options and so have made them available on Shapeways (that is where the links go). This is the same process used to make the computer mounts that Raceways in the U.K. make. They are printed using a process called Selective Laser Sintering and are very strong solid nylon parts. Shapeways also provides them in a variety of colors.

I like the first one and the last one the best. Unfortunately I don't have a place to mount either though.

Yeah, I like the last one, but I already have a Sony AZ1 mounted there so I went with the third one and taped it under the stem. Still looks very clean and no ties or the extra wide Shimano strap.

My junction box is strapped to the underside of my stem. How does the tape-on clip work, that is how would it change how I can mount the junction box on the stem?

@metalheart44, here is a picture that illustrated the mounting with the tape-on mount.
The first picture shows the mount attached to the underside of the stem. I used a small piece of 3M outdoor double-sided tape, can still be removed with some effort so not permanently attached. The outdoor tape is waterproof too.
This is what I see from the riding position, no big ugly rubber strap that has the Shimano logo emblazoned on it, it is very clean and saves a few grams of weight too.
The clip works exactly like the Shimano part as far as the Junction 'A' is concerned, it slides on and locks in place.

There are other options out there that are already on the market (and aren't just CAD files)...
Some require the use of an additional 5mm spacer that increase effective stack height and others that have less an impact on this dimension.

I also have a Garmin Edge 1000 so I'm using the Rec-Mounts Type17.

It basically mounts by replacing two stem faceplate bolts with long bolts and a set of long aluminium tubes which act as spacer arms to position the mount out in front of the stem. Underneath the Garmin mount is an accessory location which can accept adaptors for cameras, lights, etc. This is where I also have the Rec-Mounts Di2 junction-box adaptor to fit my EW90 underneath.

I have seen the Rec-Mounts before, I didn't address their set-up, just trying to fill a niche with mounts that give people options. I originally wanted some way to mount the junction on my K-Edge Combo mount. K-Edge seems to be content with their current offerings and not likely to do this or a Garmin Virb Interface (I have both). Then started carrying an action cam on every ride, so I needed a different place to mount it and did not want to put it back on Shimano's rubber strapped mount, that's how the taped on one came into existence. A guy from Brazil asked for one he could attach to his Neil Pryde, the bolt on one was created. Someone in Portugal wanted no straps or ties or tape and that is how the spacer combo came into being. It has been an evolutionary process.
I also understand that they are not for everybody, Rec-Mounts and Shimano's are injection molded plastic. Raceware and these are Laser Sintered Nylon. 3D printing is a disruptive technology. We are all going to see more and more parts prototyped and created this way. A lot less waste than CNC milling, can use easily recycled materials (plastics). There are even company's doing metal fused parts in inert environments with higher powered lasers. It won't be for every part on a bike or for that matter anywhere else, but it is a start.
I did this because I needed an alternative, not to become the next Di2 mount tycoon.

I understand the reason behind your post. I was just also pointing out what I did as another alternative. I agree that 3D printing technology is a disruptive one that opens up a whole world of possibilities. I myself have a Flashforge Creator Pro and have printed a number of things for my cycling purposes too. And I also think that SLS is preferable for high precision over additive FDM. Also, I'm still not comfortable about using anything produced in my FDM printer for high-stress applications but I can't afford an SLS machine right now... much less a DMLS or the like.
Now one thing I might totally splurge for is one of the new food printers.

Personally, I want my own SLS printer, but selling these little Di2 clips at about $8-12 each is not going to do it! I looked at the FlashForge and almost pulled the trigger on the MicroCenter PowerSpec Pro (exact model made by Flashforge and sold through MicroCenter). This all started because my daughter has a 2010 Synapse with that stupid aero seat post and we wanted to mount a cam on it. The GoPro seat post mount is a hideously ugly gargantuan monstrosity that is way over done trying to be universal fit. So I created several mounts that were exact fits. Finally decided on a style and size that just works and others started asking about it. Then I started to get requests here and on WeightWeenies about specific items. As long as it is possible, I try to do it. I already had the initial designs up on Thingiverse and starting to move to YouMagine. Easiest way to get them to others was to put them on a 3D printing service website like Shapeways. That is exactly what Raceware did, they designed it, a service prints it. Only difference is they have their own website and likely actually carry stock of items. These are made after someone orders one. Same process, just a different means of delivery. I use FDM for prototyping. I actually can't print some of the finished designs this way as it would be impossible to remove some of the support material, or I'd have to make it solid or build it in pieces and glue it together. Kind of defeats the purpose of trying to make it lightweight and less bulky.
Some of the things that I've done were the result of requests: Anything related to the Giant TCR Advanced SL ISP, the Cervelo S-Series, Trek's use of 34 mm seat post, the Felt AR 1.1 stuff. Someone just asked me about doing some things for his Specialized Shiv. None of the OEMs really cares about these, they are all content cranking out universal fit items that, in my opinion, ruin the look and performance of the bicycle its attached to. We spend so much time posting in the Hot/Not thread with bikes stripped down to make them pretty as possible, then we strap some ugly ass stuff to it just to ride it the way we need to.
Anyway, sorry for rambling on about this stuff. I just see it as an exciting time with these technologies new in the consumer space (after all 3D printing is at least 10 years old).

I would like to know if there's some way you can figure out how to make a tape on mount for the remote climbing shifter. I hate using zip ties!!! Also, well you are at it, maybe you can come up with an idea for a tape on di2 d-fly mount as well?!
