want to get wider with my tiagra RD, Please help!
Hi all, I have a synapse with tiagra 10 speed on it. The chain and cassette are needing to be replaced and a I want to go a bit wider that the 12-30 on it now. I want to put a 12-32 cassette on it with hopes of a bit more advantage on hills. The bike moves through the gears fine with the 12-30, but that is the max sprocket size per shimano.
I have seen other posts on the internet about it, but nothing that I am willing to make a decision on yet.
Does anyone know if this will work?
If it is not perfect are their small things that can be done to improve function? i.e. add links to the chain or change the pullies?
If anyone is able to lend me some words of advice I would greatly appreciate. Thank you

For only two more teeth on your largest cog, from 30T to 32t, your current deraileur will almost certainly be fine. I'd go ahead and make the change.

Going from 30 to 32 won't be much of an improvement. At most, you just add more weight. If you want better climbing gear, go compact or triple.

The problem will be that the jockey wheel won't "get out of the way" for the shift to the 32. Look up an Ultegra 10sp RD that will take the 32T cog, they are pretty cheap by themselves.

This should work without having to change anything. The medium cage tiagra RD is rated to 32 teeth if running a double up front. But you should first figure out which gear ratios you want and then make the appropriate changes which may be more extensive than simply changing out the rear cassettes.
