Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

what app are you using for indoor training?

My iPhone does not support ant+, but my android does, and since trainerroad doesn't support adroid, I can't use the power meter with trainerroad, what are you guys using for indoor training that has work out libraries like trainerroad?

I use a desktop plugged into a TV so I can put the overlay on top of a video of some sort. Easier to follow the workout and not as mind-numbingly boring after an hour goes by.

Get the ANT+ Dongle from Wahoo and a cable to plug it into your iphone. 4c or older you can plug it directly into the phone.

iPbike works great indoors (and outdoors as well). Better yet, it has a virtual power estimation for Kurt Kinetic trainers (if you happen to have that trainer). It's pretty awesome. It's on Google Play (Android).

I use Peripedal with a Suunto Movestick in my Windows laptop. It's pretty decent and has a one time cost. I got it cheap while it was on beta. You can request a trial licence from the author, Adam.

Garmin Edge does it all. Heart Monitor, Cadence, Powermeter, Strava. Turn the fan on, GCN on the TV and set it to 40 minute hill climb, pop the bike on the rollers, and ride.

Android iPbike on my Samsung Galaxy S4. I have a SC Ant + sensor and a Miolink wrist HRM. It's the same set up for riding outside.

As for 'inside' some, including me, have allergies which preclude riding during the spring months. Seventy-three years have taken its toll. I'm happy to be able to ride a bike, even if it is inside when the weather prevents going outside.

What brand dongle are you using? I was looking at the Garmin one but has horrific reviews.

I am using the Wahoo Fitness Key sensor

Amazon.com: Wahoo Fitness Key for iPod/iPhone: Electronics

and I have it connected to the IPad using this adapter

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0097BEG08/

I considered some of the other uncorded adapters, but reviewers seemed to have problems with them flexing the lightning connection and failing.
