Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need advice in buying a bike

Hey Guys!

Am trying to figure out which bike to buy out of two that I finalized. You might've never heard of these - but based on the specs.. if possible.. can you give me an opinion on which one is better? (would highly appreciate it!)

Option 1 -- About $600 with lifetime free servicing - Buy Btwin Cycling Online

Option 2 -- About $400 - https://montra.in/bicycles/road/mont...gged-1-1-2015/

Thanks!

I'm not a fan of either. If I had to choose I'd go with the Montra if only to avoid the thumb shifters.

But they both have thumb buttons.

Hmm, the shifters in the specs have thumbies, but the ones pictured do not. I now change my opinion to, "I would not buy anything from the site at the second link".

Lol.. Yeah finding it hard to find a starter bike in India which has intelligent shifters. Trying to find something in $500 range or cheaper. If only shifters is the issue - could I replace those after buying?
