Did I receive bad pair of Assos bibs?

Have went on two lengthy rides since receiving my Assos Mille from the factory outlet. Both times while riding and when I have come I have had pain inside my left sit bone. I remember in a few reviews that users stated the chamois wasn't sewn on straight. Take a look where the seam lines up with the rectangle on the top of the chamois...it appears to run rigjt down next to the right side pad of the chamois. I apologize for my less than wonderful paint skills.

Specialized rbx shorts are better, cheaper and the chamois is on straight.

Yeah, they are now made in Bulgaria, but Assos is still using Switzerland labor rates in their pricing model. And I can also vouch that the quality has gone down a bit. Now I find little inconsistencies in quality that were not issues years ago. The swiss-made bib shorts that I bought years ago are still in decent shape, but the Bulgarian-made ones sometimes have loose stitches and other small issues after a short time. The most egregious was a Mille bib shorts whose chamois was delaminating and also coming apart from the lycra after only three months or so, despite the fact that I rotate my bib shorts at a rate of wearing each about once per week.

    Jed

I bought a Castelli jersey that had one sleeve sewn on upside down. The exchange was quick with Competitive Cyclist, though.

That does appear to be a little odd. Have you contacted them yet? I am curious what their take will be.

I have always worn those and just bought my first pair of Assos two weeks ago. I hope that mine are significantly better than the Ultras because all I ever hear is how great they are. (I have no problem with the Ultras but was just wondering if something else was better)

I had the zipper replaced on my Intermediate Evo jacket by ASSOS North America. I can't remember what the issue was but I had trouble trying to contact ASSOS in Switzerland. I called the dealer I bought them from and they gave me the following info. The service was excellent. I would give them a call.

That's good to know. I've only got one pair and there are a couple uncomfortable spots due to the sewing and seams. They aren't any more comfortable than the PI PRO Leaders I've got. I think I'll stick with the PI when they are on sale. I was wondering what was wrong when everybody here raves about Assos

What kind of horrible customer service is this? At least 5 emails sent with no reply. Not happy.

They are cut in Switzerland, sewn in Romania, then sent back to Switzerland to be inspected.
They have two people on each sewing machine. One sewing, and one watching/inspecting.
There was a big article in Cycle Sport magazine (Nov, 2014) about Assos.
That said, I have the Uno bibs and I find the mesh in the back/shoulder area to be abrasive. I also think they lose compression quickly and I'm constantly having to adjust them.
However, the pad does meld into the bibs quite nicely. Wish they had the cuckoo penthouse, though.
Maybe, the higher-end models are better, but I'm not willing to pay to find out. Overall, I probably won't buy Assos again.

Which e-mail address, Swiss or Canada? How about picking up the phone and calling the toll free number in Canada?

The sizing of my Assos bibs was the same as all my other bibs-Giordana, PBK, Canari, and others that I've tried on, like Pearl and Performance.

It's Quebec. It's well known that unless you speak fluent French, you'll just get a sneer and nose in the air as they turn away.
