Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Patriotic Jerseys

I'm doing a metric century with my 12 year old on the 4th. I thought it would be cool to wear matching jerseys and since it's America's birthday why not wear something patriotic.
DOn't want to spend much but I'd prefer something with a full zipper and somewhat form fitting.

Can anybody recommend me a good (not too expensive) american flag themed jersey? (must have by next weekend)

I like this one a lot.
Pearl Izumi ELITE LTD Country Jersey

This one is cheaper and could possibly qualify as American themed.

Freedom Machine by Twin Six. I have several Twin Six jerseys and like them a lot. Plus made in USA.

Check out Voler.com, they have some jerseys that fit the bill, not sure about the timing though. Enjoy the ride, I'm out about 6 months with fractured wrist so be careful!

you would make clothing out of it and sit on the flag? I know that's not exactly what's going on there, but that is what the design appears to intend.

I am not much for flags in general, but I would not sit on an American flag. It just seems disrespectful.

During the Olympics, the company that made the US Olympic Team jerseys is SKINS. I have one and its the real thing.

People who are serious about showing their patriotism in the USA prominently display the flag on their butt, boobs (if applicable), and mud flaps. It's a time honored tradition.

If you have a Performance bike shop near you, they just received shipment of nice USA jerseys. Paid $42 for mine yesterday. Like you, I am doing a ride over the July 4th holiday. Finding a patriotic jersey and getting it shipped in time is nearly impossible.

If if you want a pic of the jersey let me know. I looked hard and was stoked when I stopped in to Performance Bike and learned they just got their USA jerseys.

Thanks for the info. I work five minutes from a Performance store. I'll stop by to take a look. I was at a store last week and didn't see anything but I wasn't really looking for it. Got a link to the jersey you bought?

This is the jersey, of course it's on sale now. Looks good and meets all your criteria other than full zipper.

I really wanted to go with Voler but, with Voler, they are made to order. There is a 7 business day minimum plus shipping required therefore, the shipment arriving before July 4th was unlikely.
