Anyone buy winter gear in the summer?

I've had the same winter gear for a few years. I've switched over to wearing Castelli stuff in warm weather. I wanted to buy some of their winter stuff last season but the things I want were a little too pricey. Competitive Cyclist finally has it all on sale for 20% off so I'm about to throw down some cash. I know when it gets cold it won't be on sale. It will blow not being able to wear it for a few months, though.

They went from 3 pages of stuff to 6 in the last few hours, including summer stuff. Most of it over 20% off so I'm about to be stocked up on new gear.

This is what I really wanted last winter, now $118

Poggio? I bought one last winter -- love it.

If you sign up for an account at ActiveJunky.com (it's free) then go there first before clicking through to CC (or Backcountry or REI or...) they split the referral commission with you. For CC I think that nets you 10%.

Got a Pearl Izumi jacket for $40 a couple months ago. I can't wait for this stupid summer to end so I can wear it. Not really.

Also check out steepandcheap.com. They sometimes run greater discounts than CC (same company).

There are some serious deal on tights at Excel Sports when I looked last week. Some of the Sorbasso and Nanotech tights were 40-50% off. Competitive Cyclist had some good deals too.

This is the time of year to get your winter stuff set to go.

For Castelli, I'd also check out Sierra Trading Post, though much better if you get their weekly coupon.
Castelli Men's Cycling Clothing up to 70% off at Sierra Trading Post

I bought early this season a pair of the Ergo bib knickers; the chamois in them (for me anyway) is more comfortable than a number of other bibs/shorts that I have.
