Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Indeed. The boy is now big enough (~40") to ride a handful of rides there but still small enough that he doesn't realize that it's not exactly Six Flags, so he had a blast. Heck, he even managed to spin his teacup ride fast enough to make his mom feel sick for a couple hours.

We were going to go to Lake Pepin tomorrow, but I was kind of balking at the drive... so the wife suggested the much close Taylors Falls...

Y'all, I'm very excited.

Going to see my fitter tomorrow. Love that guy. For the TT fit.

Then we're playing bocce with friends.

Throw a donut into the mix and that's pretty much a perfect day.

So it's really a marinade, rub and baste process. Way more complicated than what I do: Rub and smoke.

I like that. I'm going to use it.

It appears that way.

I usually take your approach for a brisket. Apply the rub and smoke.

Wife and I rode 46.4 miles this morning with the retired racers on a chilly, windy ride, then while my wife was out having her hair done, I snuck the saw out and finished pruning trees and still have both arms. Tonight, we knocked out another 23.3 miles on our tandem with our Thursday night tandem group, so, give us 69.7 miles for the day plus three more trees pruned.

Well, the fireworks have started in a subdivision across a ravine behind our house. I'll never get to sleep. They do this the next three nights.

Perhaps you should have an encounter with a Tsetse Fly or Valium.

I don't mind too much, but my dogs don't do well with all the cracking and popping. I'll have to sedate them the next few nights.

Ya know the best brisket on earth is seasoned only with salt and pepper. But, of course, that is in Texas where the mesquite grows. I dunno if it works other places.
