Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone know of sub 1500gr disc wheels for around $500

Hey guys, I'm in the market for light wheels. I currently have Mavic CrossRide disc wheels that weight in at around 1900gr. Everyone says I should get lighter wheels. Something around 1500gr should be around a pound lighter so I should feel a big difference in keeping at higher speeds, right? I don't have a lot of money so if I go and buy a set of wheels I would like to feel a significant difference. Anyone know of a decent pair of disc wheels around $500.

Anybody feel the difference when they dropped to lighter wheels? What does it feel like with lighter wheels? 1 pound off my bike would be amazing aswell.

Anybody have these SpeedCarbon wheels? I read about lightbicycle being good but light cycle is charging $679 for what looks to be the same parts. Maybe the rims are different idk.

Get some built from Bikehubstore parts. I got 1300g from a user on here that had them built for them.

Edit: woops didn't see the Disc part.. mine are none disc. so adjust accordingly

With disc hubs they'll be a bit heavier, but very lightweight and probably under $400.

Bad hub geometry. DS spokes are way over tensioned to compensate for the poor geometry.
