Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why didn't you stop and have a chat with the guy that buzzed your group and yelled at you from his driveway? Backing down when you had the chance to confront your aggressor, especially when you outnumbered him, is a more glaring example of self loathing if you ask me. I would have been on that guy like a rat on a cheeto. I read your remarks about standing up for your rights, but yet you didn't - even when you were in the right and had the advantage. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
Really. So you are saying you confront people who yell at you (which happens several times per ride) but someone rolling coal on your asthmatic son is no big deal?

Want an example of self loathing cyclists. Check out the thread about the cyclist being beaten.

I think you're on the wrong track regarding the self loathing bit. It's not that some cyclists loathe themselves, or cyclists in general. They just don't give a ***** about you & your problems & would prefer to diminish what happens to others in order to focus on their own troubles. Cyclist gets beaten? Must be his fault. Cyclist gets coal rolled? Suck it up, stuff happens. No one cares, I've got mine, f.u. You see it all over. It's how society can step over starving kids in the street on the way to buy their scratch 'n win tickets & Starbucks.
