Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Bianchi

Well I finally got my new Bianchi. Little history I ordered a Via Nirone 7 Alu/Carbon Veloce at the start of last November and well it still hasn't arrived from the factory in Italy and the LBS has no idea of when it's coming. So the guy at the LBS understanding how frustrating this is getting has been trying to find me a ride and last week I finally said enough is enough. They had one Via Nirone 7 Mirage in my size and upgraded everything to get it how I wanted it all Veloce drive train and Ventos wheels.

So I picked it up late Friday and of course it was cold and was raining all Saturday. Today it stopped raining for a little bit while I was out but still cold 4 degrees C and a gusty wind. But the bike rides great, smooth, quick with the power, and I love the ergo shifters compared to the down tube ones on my 20 year old Miele. Now if we can get the nice weather back I'll be in heaven.

Congrats on your new Bianchi! Nothing like getting a new bike...a beauty. I have the identical wheelset and driveline on my Veloce. You will love it.
We are getting a good snowfall in Michigan today of all things. Was riding my bike in shirt sleeves the other evening and it was 80 degrees.
Cheers,
George

Yeaaa! Welcome to Club Bianchi. You are now qualified to wear the "your bike sucks" socks. Get yours here:

I bet it would look great with blue cork bar wrap too when your grey tape wears out.

Nice bike
