What's the usable lifetime of a new CF frame?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Assuming the '16' number involves rounding, it's certainly a multiple of PI. Just not an integer multiple.

One of the big factors with carbon longevity is how long until you forget and drive into the garage with the bike on the roof rack.

Probably until I buy a new bike.

but I don't own a carbon bike...but if I did it would probably last until I got the hankerin' for a new bike.

It's just funny because there are probably dozens and dozens of other bike shops in Seattle that will gladly work on CF bike parts/frames while this guy turns them away. Not a very good business decision because he has a poorly informed view of the material...

Nope, its a full retro-grouch owned shop. The other articles are pretty much a retro-grouch checklist.

What are the chances a retro shop makes this warning? Would this be a biased opinion?

That's all well and good, but your number is wrong. The correct number is 16.438825

Actually, after consulting Deep Thought, I've discovered the number is, in fact, 42.
